True, it didn't "feel" like it was part of the LOTR universe - and I went into this movie knowing almost nothing, aside from it having ties to LOTR and being directed by Peter Jackson. The rabbit sleigh did make me laugh, though XD
But hey, we'll probably team up again for the other two movies, because seeing it as a group was way more fun than seeing it alone or with few people. We commented (not loud enough to bother the other 8 people XD) sarcastically all throughout the movie, and those comments made the movie even more entertaining for us; at one point one of us said, referring to the eagles at the end: "F**k this s**t, Imma go be in Harry Potter, at least that's a better movie!" XD
No way, I love long comments, so don't be afraid to say what you want! :D
I saw The Hobbit movie last Friday with my mom. I did like the movie and yes the music was good. I liked the ending song "Song of the Lonely Mountain." It is a pretty song :)
I thought the first part of the movie moved rather slow. I was also disappointed to find out that the story of the Hobbit was split up into 3 movies. The book isn't even that long. Well it is long but not as long as the LOTR books. You are right, the movie was a lot different from the book.
Overall I enjoyed the movie. But I couldn't help but feel cheated. It didn't seem to have the same depth/fantasy feeling as the LOTR movies. I had a hard time connecting the movie of the Hobbit to LOTR. It was good but not great but it did have an EPIC music score. Howard Shore composed the music? He's an awesome composer. I'm a really big fan of Hans Zimmer. I think Howard Shore has become another one of my favorite composers.
I'm sorry for the long comment. Sometimes I tend to ramble when I have a lot to say. I would like to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year :D May your Holidays be full of good tidings and good cheer.
