When Muse happened in Twilight I was like, "No Muse, no! Don't do it, baby, don't do it!" and now when I mention Muse, sometimes younger people are like, "That band from the Twilight soundtrack, right?"

A Swingers AU sequel? Seems legit. I can see it in the horizon already.

"Now there's a movie for it, and Beyonce is re-recording music for it. "
Hell, now I feel like I am living in an alternate universe. We've already had Muse for Twilight so we might as well bring Beyonce for the Twilight ripoff, lmao.
Though the appearance of "50 Shades" is logical, if you think about it: get 'em hooked while they're teens and into mushy romance stuff, then satisfy their craving for sexytimes when they get to young adulthood. In a few years' time a swingers AU sequel will probably be on the shelves.
I'm not kidding, it literally used to be Twilight fanfiction, and the names were changed. The spelling, the grammar; completely reminiscent of unbeta'd fanfiction. Now there's a movie for it, and Beyonce is re-recording music for it.
Didn't the books start off as some weird AU Twilight fanfic and the author had to change the names to not get her pants sued off her? IDK I heard something about some "inner goddess" doing the conga. It's honestly some of the most hilarious crap I've read (in a so-bad-it's-good way) and I might just be able to pull through reading it, considering I've had training with this (just read the synopsis).
My prediction: reviewers/critics will call it crap but it'll still make a ton of money. Same case as Twilight, really: most people KNOW it's crap (even the fans), but "guilty pleasures" aren't called that for nothing, lol.
Lmao, I was so distracted by all the clices that I didn't even recognize the song - even when they spelled it out for me I was like "whoa, really?!" It sounds interesting but not sure how promoting both a new movie AND a cover of an old song in the same clip works, haha. It just seemed...out of place (drawing attention to the song, I mean).
I haven't read the books, but I probably will read at least the first one just to get to know the universe better. Will probably watch the movie drunk as well. Almost every bad movie becomes exponentially better when you stop applying logic and common sense to it!
The trailer is surprisingly more interesting than the book is [from what it appears so far at least]. The book was total crap-- I mean like I've read fan fiction from 15 year-old girls that's better than the book. I'm just surprised it's made it this far with such poor plot and characters.
I'll be interested to see how well it does in theaters and critic reviews. I don't have very high hopes for the laughable production...
I saw the trailer too. The only thing that I really like about it was the re-recorded version of 'Crazy' by Beyonce in the trailer. I was like, "Whoa, girl! Sing it." If the movie is written as well as the books - we're doomed. The theaters are doomed. And my eyes will be doomed to suffer for an eternity.

Imagine shitty BDSM fanfiction.
Now publish it.
There you go. That's the book.
