Glad to hear that you also loving AMV! :D I will also be sure to check that one, you can never get enough of them. AMVs can also help to get you more in a certain anime and to keeps you motivated about something overall. :)

I personally really like AMVs. I started watching them from the first time when I got internet hooked up. It was in 2006-2007 and it was from the old 56 and 100 kb modems. I had to wait like 15 min. to wait for videos to buff back then, but it was so worth it.

Back in the days (and even sometimes these days as well) I mostly watched Dragon Ball Z AMVs. Some were good and some not so, but back then everything was the same in my eyes. I liked the energy and the flow that they had.

Later of course I found many others, some which are well know and good like Futuristic Lover AMV of Bakemonogatari, then AMV of Gimme More, of Touch, Say Huh and so on..

Though I have many that I like it is hard to pick my favorite one. It would be an older one, one that might be so good, but that I watched and enjoyed many times... Still it would take me time to actually decide well.^^

I haven't watched any AMVs recently but yes I do like watching them/listening to them if they're good. Let me just be a bit blunt. If I think an amv is utter crap, I immediately watch something else or find a better one to watch.
AMVs are touchy for me for this reason, they have to be timed right,catch my attention,and they have to be made well.
I've somewhat lost interest in amvs mainly cause most of them I've seen are stupid. The video/music quality was poor more times than not and also the people didn't take the time to make a good video. I'm a bit critical when it comes to amvs. I watch them with a very critical eye. Same thing goes when I'm trying to make an amv. I make sure my clips are perfect for what ever song I'm using. Otherwise what's the point? And then if I don't do it right,why do it.
I haven't made any amvs for awhile. Mainly cause of lack of good clips and ideas. I'm just waiting for the inspiration to hit me.
My favorite amv was one done to a song called "Take A Moment" by Armin Van Buuren ft. Winter Kills. It featured one of my favorite animes Macross Frontier among many others. The Macross Frontier clips stood out to me the most but the whole amv was beautifully made. Every clip was perfect and in sync with the song. I still watch it once in awhile and every time it blows me away cause of the quality and I lose myself in it. To me that's when you know you have a good amv,no an epic amv. But sadly those are rare.

I go to animemusicvideos.org when I need a fix. YouTube works, too. What I really love are the ones where people make their own animation (no matter how bad) and sync it to the song. I'm talking about stuff like this. Warning: there is brief use of The Finger in the video I linked.
