I didn't mean the comment against your friend in any way! I was more put in the ranting mood by the idea that writing is something you do for school.
I can understand that, after all, until recently I never did any writing other than what was necessary for school. I get frustrated by grammar so I tend to give up instead of making myself write. Plus, I struggle to even come up with ideas at all.
I'm glad to hear that your friend was joking about that, but it's a misconception that way too many people have.
It was just a joke, because she's the one who got me started on being creative and being in rpgs (collaborative storytelling over at OtakuBoards) in the first place.^^
Since those are fun even though it's a lot of work, I saw your writing prompts and thought... why not? >_> It's still hard though. I enjoy reading, but writing isn't so easy.
Anyway, I look forward to more classes and writing prompts. ^_^

Though one thing made me a bit sad: a comment I saw around the site, in which a member said that there was "no way in hell" they were doing the writing prompts, because they'd already done enough writing in school.
You can't let that make you sad you know... indifference is my roommate and the comment was really meant as a joke for me. ^_~ I have to clear that up since it was not a slight against your workshop at all. I know how hard she works for school so the comment just made me giggle, which is why I'm sure she left it.
Besides, you don’t know her, she co-runs three rpgs over at OtakuBoards, two of which I participate in so don’t let it make you sad, a joke between friends. That is why she only left it on my page instead of the place you posted it for everyone.
*clap clap clap* Well put, Beck Beck. I'll admit that I myself don't write nearly as much as I would like. I make excuses to myself and I know I shouldn't.. I'm not online long enough to get a good look at the writers block like I really want to.. But I will try to write more.^_^ Write on!!!
Seriously some people just say certain things without even thinking or considering what they are saying.
Writing cannot, without a doubt, be considered as easy. It is not. Period.
Of course there are certain individuals who were born with talent to write - such as yourself and James for example and from what I can see there's A LOT of other people like you guys and we can actually see it now, due to what?
The writers bloc world, especially your prompts.
I always admire people who could express themselves through words; share with us their made up stories full of emotion and fictitious places. I'm an avid reader and I had a small idea of how hard it can be to write something up but now after being involved in that world I admire writers even more !
I know now that reading is fun but writing is even more fun and with your help I can actually write something up, which was practically impossible before.
Besides you have never, EVER demand us to write something, you merely gave us some tips and suggestion and if we wanted we could write something up.
So what that member said in this particular case sounded a bit rude and unfair to me. I'm sorry but its what I feel.
You and James are giving your best to help us out and you do it because you care, you sincerely want to help and guide others with your knowledge and you do it almost everyday and suddenly someone say such thing can really hurt you or even discourage you to continue.
I honestly can say to you that I've noticed many improvements not only on writing up my own stories but getting better at writing in english and I owe this solely to the writers bloc and his founders. I couldn't be more thankful!
Hehe okay aside from all that, I do hope you keep on writing, sharing your knowledge with us and keep those prompts coming (which reminds me that I still have to write up my last sunday prompt!)!
So becky, learning from someone like you, truly is an honour.
Whoever says writing is easy has no idea what they're talking about. If it comes easily to them, they aren't doing something right...
Writing takes talent. And you've got talent. =)
I enjoy the prompts because I have a ton of crazy little ideas in my mind.. And I can actually write about them now. Haha. I'm even considering to continue the vampire prompt I did, and I have you to thank for that! I would have never thought my story idea was any good without your prompts.
And believe me; these prompts are nothing like the ones for school. It's not like you're telling me to define what loyalty should mean to someone... Ugh.

Like hell is writing easy! DX
And now that I have my mondo 2-episode review done, I will take some time to work on one of your writing prompts. ^^ Either the last one you posted or the next one.
Hmm, lyrics aren't really my forte... but if you're just starting with songwriting, the formula is pretty much like this:
- First verse
- First refrain
- Second verse
- Second refrain
- Bridge
- Final refrain
The bridge should accommodate key changes and such, and the last refrains can be mixed up a little bit. Other than that, you pretty much approach it with the same sensibility as writing a poem, and keep rhythm in mind. To start, you might want to give yourself a limit to how many beats per line, too.

Well, written out of feelings spawned from a misconception or not, I still thought this was awesome.
