Sorry for the prolonged radio silence, guys. I was sick with bronchitis last week and didn't have the energy to do much but lay around. And... well, the country I work for is going through a crisis right now obviously, so I've been pretty drained....

Why hello there, 5:30AM.

-- and the worst part is, my flight isn't even until 11:05, but to get there by 9:00 or so I really do need to be up this early. Oh, Nerima, I will not miss the fact that you are insanely far away from everything.

Anyways! Time to tuck away the last of my stuff and get going. Had an unusually good night with my host family last night, in which they made some of my favorite foods and then we went to see some gorgeous fireworks, so I can leave without feeling bitter towards them. I'm pretty certain they will not have another student after me, since they clearly don't have the time or interest anymore, so hopefully they got <i>something</i> out of having me here, too.

I'll miss you, Japan! But I'll be back soon. &hearts; In the meantime I am going home to sleep.

I will see you all when I am conscious! Have an awesome weekend in the meantime. &hearts;

A mixture of :D and D:

- Today I went to a club event and made some Japanese friends! I also made a U-Turn in a swan boat.

- Went to karaoke afterwards. My first time! 'Twas pretty awesome. I got to sing Bump of Chicken's KARMA at the top of my lungs, which I have wanted to do forever.

- Have been helping out around the house with various things since Nomu-san and Michiyo seem pretty stressed. They had some much-needed family bonding with the girls tonight, but... the downside to that was that they didn't really include me in the conversation, and I just ended up sitting there at dinner not-talking. It was kind of lonely.

- We're apparently leaving the house before 8:00AM tomorrow to go eat sushi. I am... not entirely sure why we're having sushi first thing in the morning. ;;

Bleh.

- The Japanese Placement test... it wasn't so much that I forgot the kanji in the intermediate and advanced sections, it's that WE WERE NEVER TAUGHT ANY OF THEM. ;; Jeez... I'm not going to pretend my Japanese is perfect, but I understood almost a...
