Akane was practicing her high notes when groaning was heard. She turned to see her teacher lying down on the floor.
"Lock, Shock, Barrel!" Akane yelled. The three kids ran up to Akane.
"Yes Akane?" Shock said.
"Did any of you overfeed Oogie last night?" Akane cracked her knuckles. Lock and Shock pointed to Barrel.
"It wasn't my fault! Last night we went to a party and we had to feed him extra early. Plus I gave him juice." Barrel explained. Akane smelled the air.
"You gave him sake? That's even worse!"
"More bugs, *hic* I need more bugs!" A voice slurred. The three people ran away to find more bugs. Akane sighed and went to see if her teacher is okay.
"Hey, you alright?" Akane asked.
"I'm fine. Just stuffed, that's all. I can't *hic* believe we let those three take care of my eating habits!" Oogie complained.
"I'll be right back to cure you. I might even catch ya a bug or two if I'm lucky." Akane smiled, then left the lair. She came across Christmas Town and stopped at a restaurant. Seeing hot coco and a peppermint stick, Akane mixed the two together and dipped two big beetles in the drink. She put the beetles in her pocket and started to walk back when she heard crying. A blond girl with a blue streak in her hair was shivering in the cold. She seemed like four years old.
"Hey there, what's your name?" Akane asked the girl.
"I'm Deidrex and I'm very cold..." Deidrex shivered.
"Do you have a family or a last name?"
"I don't remember. I don't have any memory." Deidrex explained. Akane lifted Deidrex and put her on her back.
"Don't worry. I'll protect you from the cold. I take care of you until you get your memory back." Akane said, determined.
"Thanks...." Deidrex said, then started to sleep as it was snowing. Meanwhile, Oogie was getting impatient.
"Where *hic* is my girl!?" Oogie yelled, causing the Kid's Playroom to shake.
"I don't know, She should've been here by now!" Lock looked around. The stuffed sack of bugs was about to complain when a door opened to find a frozen Akane struggling to get inside. Luckily, Barrel turned the heat on so Akane melted off the ice.
"I-I found the cure." Akane shivered, giving the two Christmas bugs to him and went to her room. She placed Deidrex on her bed and put a blanket on top of her. Akane smiled.
