I say comparing Pokemon to Death Note is nearly impossible to do. It's very much a matter of taste. I actually like this unlikely face-off because it shows how diverse anime truly is. Take that, anime naysayers!
If you just go by the anime, my vote goes to Death Note, mostly because it held my interest until the very end. No such luck with Pokemon. Then again, Pokemon is over 20 times as long. But it's just so repetitive.
Call it karma. Call it luck. Me, I just don't give a... BOUNCE!

In design Death Note is a superior anime.
But in being successful, Pokemon wins hands down and even if you don't like it anymore it's still had enough impact on lives that people will still reminisce about which period in the Pokemon Franchise was the best, which bits they don't like or still wondering why Ash hasn't aged.
In my personal opinion, Death Note is not worth talking about anymore; it had it's run, it ended, it's been nearly ten years since it first started and seven years since it finished, there's nothing left in the series that's worth talking about anymore and nothing to expand on either.
Pokemon is not only still going but the new series is creating so much hype that many fans who have grown up with the franchise and stopped are coming back because of simple things like training a Charizard again lets people of my generation enjoy a piece of the past that we had so much fun with.
ewwwwwww... nice nice nice.. let me think... I like the theme of Deathnote especially how they keep you on your toes and thinking... but i've watched pokemon since they came out.... tough choice... given my current age i like Deathnote. It just got dragged out and out of hand with pokemon
And I know they're different from each other ^^' I got into a passionate debate with a friend about which was better. So I wanted to know your guys's opinions.
Just try imagining if Ash found a Death Note. No more Team Rocket.... And probably no more Ash. "I better write my name down here along with my adress so if I don't lose it!"
But the 2 shows are just so different from each other... But never having cared too much for Pokemon (Ash is still 10 years old guys!!!!!) I think Death note is the superior anime ;3
