OtakuBoards Nifty Fifty
If you Haven't done so yet, then be sure to head over to OtakuBoards and put in your nominations for the Nifty Fifty 2009 awards.
As the thread states, it’s a list of the fifty members, threads, or things that have made theO’s community great (‘nifty’) in the past year. This includes theOtaku and OtakuBoards.

Caption Battle: Mm, Delicious Head... What?
"It's that time again..."
"To wait for cheap all-you-can-eat after 9pm?"
"To avenge your father and brothers who were wrongly hanged for treason?"
"No... it's time for this week's caption battle!"
But first, last week's winners:
In third place with one of those classic lines: kyouyarenge!
Tikhon said that he'd get a smiley painted on his arm when girls fly. And so it happened...
In second place, with another one of those references that everyone gets: darknessslayer!

Sommer: Go Ascoeur!
And in the coveted first place, beginning a streak he himself had vowed never to begin... Ace!
Ascoeur saw the smiley face branded on the mech and knew what she must do. She had to destroy this abomination right away, no matter the cost. She had to do it, because it was a painful reminder of the terrible truth:
Wal-Mart really does sell everything these days.
Not a bad start to the year at all. Good, good. Moving on...
So this week's screecap comes courtesy of Animegirl177 and features the series Hare+Guu. Blue-haired boy is Hare, pink-haired girl is Guu, and guy upon whose head she noshes may or may not be Ezio Auditore da Firenze. Have fun:

New Comment System
Thanks to all of you who are writing in with your experiences, we're working on the issues.
Please follow these steps to ensure that you're seeing a glitch with our new comment system and not with your browser's cache:
(1) Internet Explorer: Hold CTRL and then click refresh a few times.
(2) FireFox: Hold CTRL and then click refresh. If you're on a Mac, hold COMMAND + SHIFT then click refresh.
For other browsers, try a combination of holding CTRL or CTRL + SHIFT and then hitting refresh.
The two biggest glitches we've seen are:
(1) It doesn't work in Opera, which is major.
(2) When you close the comment window, the screen will often freeze for a few seconds
