This WORLD features all official updates from our network.

Hey! Listen! H'lo?! Look! New Feature!!!

The MONSTER feature of last week was an amazing thing, and already we have over 40 submitted challenges (with the deadlines for the very first ones just around the corner, even)! That's awesome.

But I'm not gonna downplay it, this month's new feature is gonna Oxygen-Destroyer Adam's MONSTER out of the water!

Also, if you haven't watched the original Godzilla movie, do that. Besides the point...

This month, we're bringing out a new feature, slightly inspired by an old feature. But I think that's already saying too much. The rest of the clues for now lie within the following sound clip:

(You can also direct download here!)

I know, as if the fact that it's an "audio clue" wasn't enough, right? But it's in there... and if you don't get the clue... then maybe you're just too old to get it...

Happy discoveries, otakuites!

EDIT: Stop hurting your ears! Clearly this was an April Fool's Joke!

theOtaku.com Anime Podcast V - Ep. 25

(Lame jokes ignored this week for sake of expedience)

Batou! Dude! Eyes forward! C'mon... focus, man, focus! So yes, I'll be there, a few others of us will be there, and we need to get in touch to plan some junk out. Should be fun.

Also...

GIRUGAMESH!!!

The following podcast may contain some coarse language that may offend some listeners. Discretion is advised.

And finally, you can find Ichigo's travel log over at the Anime Pulse website (under the "features" tab). He's gettin' some crazy adventures over there. Go read. Right after the podcast.

Caption Battle: Least He's Not Drowning...

"It's that time again..."
"To eliminate Las Plagas?"
"To discuss showers in French?"
"No... it's time for this week's caption battle!"

But first, last week's winners:

In third place, bringing context to the world: iluvtails!

In the end Shigure got the last stick of Pocky.

In second place, calling out the animation shortcuts: Angel Zakuro!

This argument started over who stole whose nose.

And in the coveted first place, saying what everyone's thinking... fallenangel8!

The sad thing about this picture: 75% of fangirls are going to find it hot.

Ah, good fun... let's move on to this week, shall we?

This week's screencap comes courtesy of Hisaishi and features the non-anime anime Samurai Jack (yeah, we're breakin' all the rules today - I mean, unless you guys just wanted more Rozen Maiden?). I'll give you three guesses as to who the person in the screencap is:

You know the drill: type up the funniest, wittiest, most original caption you can think of for the screencap above in the comments below. Also, if any of you would like some tips on writing a great caption, you can find those here.

And like always, theOtaku is open to all submissions and suggestions for weekly feature content. You have a screencap you want used, you can PM me and we can do somethin' about it. And remember: Hugh Laurie is actually British, not American!

Four New Quizzes

It's time for some more quizzes. So head on over and check them out. Just be sure to let Guru know which ones you liked the best and what results you got.

theOtaku.com @ Sakura-Con 2009 in Seattle, WA

I feel it is in the best interests of the American Northwesters and Canadian Southwesters of this website to meet up at Sakura-Con in Seattle.

Yes. Let's do that.

This year's Sakura-Con features a multitude of guests. Voice actors range from domestic favourites like Todd Haberkorn (xxxHolic) and Wendy Powell (FMA) to overseas stars like Kappei Yamaguchi (Death Note) and the prolific Sasaki Nozomu (Akira, Monster). Musical guests include The Slants, SMiLE.dk, and Girugamesh. And of course, once again, the creators of Penny Arcade will also be there.

Though we won't have the usual massive lottery give-aways for free stuff like before, I can promise we'll have at least one or two ultra-embarrassing contests for those of you who missed out on that last ridiculous thing for one reason or another. Beyond that, it'll just be an excuse to hang out, have fun, and trash-talk all the people on the site you hate and think about how wonderful it is to be a part of such a large and amazing community of fans!

And of course, our good ol' podcaster Batou of Anime Pulse will be there. Not getting lost, even. Come meet him too!

So who's going? Be sure to check out our post over at the Conventionist World to say anything about the con', what you're looking forward to, and when it would be convenient to meet up!

And as always, check back at The Conventionist World for updates.

Hope to see a whole lot of you there!
