If your wondering how I usually sound when I do my old man voice, it varies between sounding like Vegeta3986's old man voice (of DBZ and Naruto Abridged) and... not Bill Cosby. But still, I continue to enjoy your impression of me whenever I listen to your podcast.
Consarn it I need an iPhone. All I have is the blackberry my sister gave me, and I almost broke it trying to take the cover off because she didn't tell me of the screws keeping the damn thing on.
I was hoping for at least special episode where Zuko was reunited with his mother. Oh well. And I'm not telling where I went to college. I may be 18, or 45, or a turky disguised as GIR. I could have just come up with it after looking at my Aksys Games poster with Taokaka, which I did.
Like I said below, the national language in the Philippines is called Filipino.
Tagalog is a Filipino dialect upon which the Filipino language is largely based on. However, Tagalog is not "the Filipino language", because it's only the dialect of the Luzon region. There are other dialects in the country like Bisaya (which I normally use) and Bicolano (which I think is a dialect that jomz might be familiar with). However, the country has one national language, and it's called Filipino.

@Ichigo:
I just noticed right now that you were indeed having problems with what our language is. I hope this comment and the previous one clarified that.
As for the Redford White clip (which also has YouTube-based English subtitles), you can say that they're speaking in the Filipino language. At the same time, you can also say that they're speaking in the Tagalog dialect, since most of the words they used are based on that dialect.

Yay, more Marvel cartoons. Are they gonna be like that SuperHero Squad show, cause man, that just seemed like pandering to the then-impending release of Iron Man 2.
I love MST3K's 'Jack Frost'; fairy tales are fun.
Yeah, the Filipino language is called Tagalog. But don't feel bad if you didn't know beforehand; lots of people don't research before they start talking about stuff on the air. Glenn Beck, for example.
Our national language is Filipino. Tagalog is a Filipino dialect commonly spoken in the Luzon region. The two often get confused with each other for the simple fact that Filipino is largely based on the Tagalog dialect.
I'm from the Visayas region, and so I don't speak Tagalog very frequently. Instead, I speak the Bisaya dialect (which is common in the Visayas and much of the Mindanao region).
However, my college teacher in Filipino told us that the Tagalog and Bisaya dialects are part of the Filipino language, and thus our language as a nation is Filipino.

- Well, free manga is very rare in our country. Our school libraries don't usually have manga in its bookshelves, and I have yet to see one library that does. As for our city library, it's not even maintained properly, and they're even having a ridiculous plan of closing it down, so you can't expect manga to be there.
If we buy original manga, we would have to pay around Php 600 in our place, which is already equivalent to three days of minimum wage. (Definitely a privilege, if you ask me.) There's a cheaper alternative (around Php 200), though it's only limited to bargained Tokyopop manga books. So yeah, only a few people here would consider buying manga instead of viewing pirated scanlations. If legal manga were a bit cheaper, then maybe they'll consider. But that may take a long time to occur.
That doesn't mean I'm a frequent reader of these stuff. Heck, I only limited myself one or two series to read on, 'coz I'm not too keen with downloading these kind of stuff. If there was a legal and electronic alternative that I can get a hold on, however, I may use that instead, as long as it doesn't get too Westernized.
- Actually, Redford White passed away just this Sunday (July 25, 2010), not this week. And I already placed English subtitles on the YouTube link, so you should be able to enjoy them by now.
- Too bad very few cared about the dancing mascot link, since he really did a cool dance with his blinking eyes. Gotta remind myself to make better descriptions in the future.

The language is called Tagalog. It's a fun language. Also, the accent never goes away.
I have a lot of Filipino at work.
