Having read Harry Potter, I see the resemblance. Now I'll always have these comparisons in the back of my mind every time I watch Naruto.

I read this before starting to read HP. Now I'm in the middle of last book and I see how they'r alike comepletly, even though I watched the movies before reading HP TT^TT

LOL yep! Yet somehow I don't see them getting along...Naruto's hyperacctiveness would annoy Harry. Sakura and Hermione would be classroom rivals(who knows Hermione might join the Sasuke fan club) Sasuke would just hang around long enough to learn the killing curse and then leave.
Dumbledore would probably hang out with the 3rd Hokage, go drinking.

i never noticed the difference before, but now that you mention it, you're right! thank you so much for finally shining some light on this wonderful discovery. never again shall i look at either naruto or harry potter the same again i enjoyed the way you wrote this and the tone that you used. wonderful writing techniques and analizational skills.

(it's kinda weird, but i pictured an English teacher assigning this paper to the class and everyone but the major anime fans and readers looking at the teacher like this O_O) lol

(then you turn it in, the teacher grins a big "omg im sooo passing this student" grin, and slaps on a big fat "A" on it)

True but then what about the uncannyness of the two bad guys: Voldemort and Orochimaru? Both seek eternal life, both have giant snakes, both were students of the leader, both killed or ordered the killing of the leader, and both look like snakes and own a snake. O.o

I never realized haw much alike they were until now it's kinda weird lol. Voldemort=Orochimaru,Sakura= Hermione,and I think Harry is a mix between Sasuke and Naruto.Kinda of a scary combination huh? I still like Naruto better though (Not as many characters die)

Perhaps this is why I had reached the 4th Harry Potter book. I like Naruto and Harry Potter and see the resmblance greatly.

yyyeah, neither harry potter nor naruto are very good or original, but at least good ol' J.K. knew better than to extend the torture of her works over THAT many episodes... most of which are about absolutely nothing.
i only finished the harry potter series out of loyalty because i loved it when i was little, and the last book was the most profound crap i've ever seen in novel form.. though it was still preferable to naruto.

Absolutly! I just started watching Naruto but already agree with all of this, you left out a simalarity though, how untill the end, we have no clue who the hero and heroine will end up with romantically! At first I thought it'd be as easy as NarutoxSakura and HemoinexHarry, untill Ron and Sasuke entered the picture, now I'm flip flopped and decided to go with the SakuraxSauske HinataxNaruto ideah, and GinnyxHarry HermoinexRon, by the way, yes Sakura

That said, much fiction could be compared to Naruto and Harry Potter in those aspects.

ah, hah! yes i've always thought of that but no one ever brought it up! Yes...dumbledore as sarutobi... interesting. you know what else? on you tube they have those weird naruto and the goblet of fire/chakra
videos. and they seem to fit together well, dont they? well im gonna go see some more otaku, so shea shea!
