Having the ability to freeze ten accounts in the time it takes a person to register one new e-mail address comes in handy. =P

    *pokes you for being silly*

That's a good idea. I had actually thought you needed to enter an email address all along. I signed up on theOtaku a few years ago.. so I don't remember the sign-up process back then.

Well, I'm sure that this will be a very good thing for the site.. =D

I think that's a great idea. It seems like fake accounts are being made on almost every site nowadays. I don't know why this outbreak started, but it's putting a lot of strain on the people who run those sites. I love how this feature can annoy those people who want to make fake accounts.

I know we have verification for OtakuBoards, but I don't remember if you did when I first signed up three years ago. lol But yeah, you definitely need to crack down on that kind of thing... It's just silly that people create junk accounts. I can see one or two, especially before VV was launched, but otherwise, there just isn't a reason really.

This reminds me to go and find my "practice myOtaku" site. It wasn't a dummy account in the traditional sense, but I used it for the sole purpose of practicing my HTML and graphics. I didn't want to mess-up my actual myOtaku site again (I did that once before), so I made that account for practice only (comments were not on; neither was the gb). I'll have to go and find it and delete it since I rarely use my myOtaku site anymore. (Hmm. Maybe I already deleted it. In either case, thanks for reminding me!)

(Found it and deleted it! Good riddance to it and its clumsy graphics and HTML.)

I changed my email address on another site and the site kicked me off. So I would advise changing your email adress with great caution

Good idea. ^_^ I remember being surprised that it didn't do a verification process when I signed up. I had just signed up for OtakuBoards and it did require e-mail verification.

Anyway, after seeing some of the dummy accounts that people have done just to get popular... it's good to see a feature like this being implemented to help cut down on that kind of silly nonsense. ^_^

Is there a way to change your email in the database? I joined three years ago and I've changed it since then. So if I forget my password or something, I can't recover it, etc.

I'm rather satisfied with this new requirement. It's not uncommon for sites to require at least a valid email address, so I'm glad this is now required for TheO. Hopefully those pesky dummy accounts will disappear.

    Thanks!

What about the people who joined years ago? How do they confirm our e-mails to the site? Plus, the section to edit and add info for our myotaku accounts is gone.
