Batou's done a couple of them since I've come to Japan, but it comes down to expediency. Since we still record in the evening in the states it's morning for me. And since Sunday (Sat night in US) is a day off for me, I can edit and post during my day while Batou can go to bed. That and my upload speed to libsyn from Japan is a solid 500KB/s, which is like 10 times faster than it was in Colorado. So uploading the show takes 1.5min instead of 35min.
Hopefully if I did my job right it's hard to tell from the audio quality :-)
You've done an amazing job with the audio levels, Ichigo. I have a question, though. What I want to know is why you, the one that's getting acclimated to a new job in a foreign land, are still the one having to edit and post the episodes?
Don't get me wrong. I know you guys are a team (woot for Chigo and much love for Katar btw ^.^) and cooperation between you and Batou is evident. I just hope you handle all the technical and time-consuming aspects of the show out of enjoyment rather than necessity. I'll be in Japan in two weeks and will be staying for the better part of a month. If someone back home still expected me to carry on "business as usual", I'd be a bit peeved. I realize this is your life now, and congratulations on that extending for at least a year, but please, don't push yourself beyond your limits. We wouldn't want our little Eskimo to suffer a breakdown, now would we? =P I'm sure Batou would step up to the plate if you ever asked.
Great show, guys. Let the good times roll.
Miss Anonymous: ARE YOU CALLING THE PLIGHT OF PIZZA EVERYWHERE STUPID?!?!? >:O
Ah yes, 'The Day the Earth Froze', including the 'Failure Song' and the question "What is a Sampo?"
Cartoon Network's just been idiots in regards to anime for a long time; I even miss when they'd show Gundam Wing, for crying out loud. Don't like Adult Swim's new scheduling either; I don't like having to watch Bleach at midnight, then having to stay awake clear till six to catch Code Geass and Moribito. And in between they show all that pointless crap that I used to be able to ignore entirely because it was only on Sunday nights. Now I set my alarm to wake me up, switch over to Food Network, and take a quick nap.
So, how long are you going to hang out this time, man? I promise we won't stalk you like some of the fans Batou's got. ^_~ I hope you like Version Vibrant... 'cause I think the last time we heard from you was before then. Yeah...

Chigo returns from the vast depths of the beyond! (Wherever that is...). Or a Mexican prison.
Nice letter, Kat-person. ^^ (loldickweed)
198 episodes of MST, I believe, counting their season on the KTMA cable access channel. 1000+ episodes would be sweet though. One can dream...
I read some comments on Macias' own blog where he confirmed that he was taken out of context. And I love how much negative feedback that article has generated. I don't think it will make much difference to the guy, but perhaps he'll think twice next time.
I'd like to create an ad for Movie Sign, but I know some people who would kill me if it showed up on their world, so until Adam does something like allow the feature to be turned off, I'll sit tight.
Got that Toonami news on the BNR a bit late, but at least you guys knew about it anyway. I haven't watched Toonami in years, but it is disconcerting to know that it's gone now. A great TV institution passes into history...

Yes, I'm only back to hear your crazy rants. And maybe some other things, too. :P
Hahah, wow, Katana! lol
That's nice, though. Be grateful, free food doesn't come around these days unless you're wandering around Costco and eating the free samples for lunch like a cheap bastard.
I'm so annoyed that I missed the Richard Epcar interview. I knew I forgot about something Wednesday night. ._.
But yes, reading the transcript, he sounded very cool.
Or, if you are to speak in terms of Pacific Time, the Movie Sign chat opens at 4:30 and the movie starts at 5:00.
I can't believe they're getting rid of Toonami... I guess it's cause people just don't watch anime on TV anymore, which I think is evidenced by the Jet Stream staying and the Toonami (plus other anime programming) getting the boot.
Oh my, Ichigo, I love the logic you used for the rice bags. lol I think a lot of male anime fans would agree with you there.
Hmm... I wonder... now that Chigo has returned, when will he get his own fanclub? *beats the dead horse senseless*

Chigo is alive? I thought you two killed him off due to a lack of fan girls and fan men. Oh, and speaking of food, you guys should try some of those True North peanut crisps. They contain all the benefits of peanuts but without all the shell mess. Think of it as the peanut world’s equivalent to popcorn that dose not get stuck in your throat.
I don’t know, Sony could have (censored) up a whole lot more. The old Donkey Kong Country music would have gone well with their fail in the handheld market this last quarter. Then again, they could have used some Halo screen shots to visually get across how Microsoft is destroying them in the Japanese market largely due to the new tales game.
Upon reading "some other idiot joins the podcast" I immediately thought of Chigo and there was a happy dance commencing after having confirmed my suspicion. Right after it stopped, though, I felt a little bad for drawing such a conclusion based off of that sentence.
Showers of Love to Chigo!
By the by, did His Chibiness join Batou during the recording or were ya'll in separate locations?
Great Opening! Detroit Metal City is freaking hilarious, !
*GASP* CHIGO IS BACK!!!!! *throws confetti around the room* Its so weird hearing him on the podcast seeing as he was gone for awhile.
The death of Toonami was very very sad (even though I stopped watching it after they finished Gundam Wing). Toonami was my first exposure to censorship *cough* Outlaw Star *cough*. Those were the days.
Wow SomeGuy, you are just bursting with excitement -
HOLY SHIT CHIGO
The UPS did not let me down! =D And wow, you read the whole letter. 8D; Glad you liked the box, it was a fun time to decorate. A true sign that my mom has become immune to my ways is that she walked into my room, saw the box half-done on the floor, and completely ignored it.
By the way, I bought the food and shipped it three days later, so it wasn't sitting around for long. I would've definitely eaten them had it been...a year. 'specially the Nutella. Good with chips.
The boxers or briefs question? Oh yeah, all me baby. So proud of that, particularly because it got a reaction from Adam.
Samurai Jack was the last show they aired on Toonami, ironically. The OAF watched Toonami's last moments together, and we mentioned how it was like watching somebody die. Rest in peace, my childhood anime portal. Stay gold.
Ahh...See, when the site is active all over the place - meaning front page, Watercooler - we get a good show. It was of quality and goodness. Now, is it a zucchini or is it a throw pillow?
