I would've loved to have gotten to meet Morimoto-san, or even just be in the same room as him; he's my favorite IC. (Batali is second and I hate Bobby Flay.)

I adore Morimoto to the absolute CORE! Augh how I wish I could have been there ;^; This interview was cute. I could picture his voice in my mind as I read it.
If you ever do become a judge on Iron Chef you have GOT to let us know what day it airs. Judging is one of my goals too . . . but I wouldn't want a weird secret ingredient . . . and I would only judge for a Morimoto battle. Then again, that would probably make me a biased judge . . .
Wow! I'm impressed you got to interview with Marimoto!
Out of all the Iron Chefs, he has to be my favorite, both Iron Chef Japan an American (although, I just like Iron Chef Japan way better!). He has such a respect for the other chef and even just for the art of cooking itself. He is such a cool guy!
Someguy already mentioned that incident when Morimoto was up against Bobby Flay, and Flay leaped up on his cutting board. So brutish and flamboyant... ridiculous. Lol
He sure sounds like a cool guy - plus he understands the great responsibility that is on his shoulders for being one of the few Iron Chefs of the world.
Lucky! I still don't know why Chef Morimoto would be at an anime convention but I think it's still awesome that you got to meet him (and interview him!)...
OMFG Adam thank you so much for being able to get a half hour with the Iron Chef and talking to him. His words are strong and powerfull. One day i want to do as he has done. HE is a very good Chef on the show along with the others ones there as well.

Wow, he sounds like a really cool guy. I agree with a lot of the stuff he said about just making stuff that tastes good. Honestly, that's all I really want when I go anywhere.
The coolest part of the restaurant business is making the customer happy and having them say they enjoy the food.
That is my gripe about a lot of restaurants I visit: their menu isn't customer-friendly. I don't come to a restaurant to be dazzled by artistry, I come to eat something delicious. Little cut-out carrot shapes on my beef? Bleah. Toss them aside; and it's a waste of a good carrot that could have been stewed, too.
Two of my favorite dishes ever are college casserole and dump cake. With the first one, you use a layer of browned ground beef (with onions or other stuff sauteed in), a layer of sliced potatoes, a layer of carrots, and a layer of cheese; then you bake it. For the cake, you literally dump all the ingredients in and bake.
They don't look impressive when they come out, but that's two of the tastiest foods you will find anywhere, and you literally can't get enough. Even my youngest sister, who dislikes beef, loves college casserole.
Edgy flavor combinations? Why? Give me food that tastes good, not something for me to 'exercise my pallete' with. Dangling preposition. >_>
OMG!!! Morimoto is one of my fav Iron Chefs.
Him and The new one (who took over Dinner Impossible)
they are both amazing
AWESOME SAUCE!!!LOL
I would have really liked to see Morimoto in person.
Adam you are very lucky

@chichi6:
It would be cool to have such a famous chef on theO! Though I don't think he'd reveal all his secrets, maybe just a few.

I remember the original Iron Chief. I used to watch it all the time with my mom. I'm not too big on American one though.

Morimoto vs Bobby Flay was 10 years ago? Holy crap, time flies . . .
This was pretty much the most amazing interview ever. Thanks, Adam! And thanks to Iron Chef Morimoto!
And remember: Bobby Flay stood on his own cutting board; he's not a real chef!

Many a night I spent watching the original Iron Chef on Food Network, and I still follow the spin-off Iron Chef America.
Morimoto sounds like a great guy to know, the personality that is seen on Food Network is indeed very genuine.
I'd love to see Morimoto challenge Bobby Flay to a throwdown.

You have to learn to listen.
I think that's important anywhere you go.
