Wow.. I just finished listening to this week's podcast and even I still don't know what the heck Batou was talking about.. (okay, I got a few parts.. ^^).
I knew that Batou was talking about soccer during last week's podcast.. I thought that it was weird at first on how he was saying "football", but now it makes sense. I still don't know why the U.S. is the only place that calls it soccer. I get a lot of complaints about that from my friends who are from abroad... that and the metric system (which is a whole new story entirely).
Good show, though.. as usual. I'd just work on that accent a little bit more for the next show... =D
I listened to the last podcast while on the way up to Wisconsin on Thanksgiving. I had to do my best to avoid laughing my ass off in the back seat of the car...sorry about not commenting though. Wince!
Ditto TC on the Crow and National Geographic theme...heheheh...heh...Eh...
Excellent history lesson, Professor Batou.
Finally, something for GIRLS! Cosplay cafe, excellent. Tired of men and their maid cafes...but really, why am I celebrating? Not like we'll ever get anything here. Merr.
I give major props to Viz for getting on the game and offering subs legitimately - at least, that's what I got out of it. And I'm floored that a fansub group actually agreed to stop offering the series for download. Interesting.
One buck an episode? If I really really liked a series, I wouldn't mind. Given your circumstances, though, I agree with the dollar price. ...And it's way better than 99 cents. That just pisses me off...
"Not the whale." Awesome. XDD
Second only to cricket and basketball? Wouldn't that make it third?
Back to Shenmue - I think the best part of that whole protest is that it's...a MySpace protest. Good God, who could take that seriously? It's like a Facebook movement...just...doesn't work...
Dude, Tim, that was incredible. "Nmnmnmnmnmnmnmnmnmnmnmmm!" I could listen to that all day.
But Fallout 3?! But MST3K! Anyways, since the podcast is being posted Sunday rather than Friday or Saturday, and if you're going to talk about Movie Sign, it might be better to advertise the one for the next week...'tis part of the reason we have the future movie schedule posted up. ;3
Thursday was turkey. Friday was turkey. Saturday was pizza. Sunday was turkey. Monday, I ate a cheeseburger, and it was the best damn thing ever.

Dude, I know you aren't hatin on 11 million people, just the weird ones. I've certainly met weird ones, and I hate on most of the people I meet at anime cons. I don't hold it against you. And honestly, I don't think you need to apologize for anything you said. This isn't some super PC show, you're not trying to offend people purposely, and people seriously need to put a few more years into High School to know their history. Seriously, it's your fuckin show, say whatever the hell you want.
Your accent's pretty good.
Let me know when they make a fangirl Bleach Cafe, I would totally salivate over that shit.

lolwut, National Geographic's Intro Theme? Sounds more like something from Skies of Arcadia.
I approve.
Oh no, Ichigo's gone. Play tiem nao?
theOtaku Podcast Team: Discussing history for your embetterment.
Batou, I wish you'd be a history teacher at my school. I'd be inwardly lawling each class.
I also approve of the English accent. :D
It depends on the anime, but between $0.99-$2.00 would be fair and I'd be willing to pay that.
Well sorry, we here in America call it soccer. I am now forced to quote Yu-Gi-Oh Abridged: "Try speaking American! It's the only language I know!"
Batou, I'm happy to see that you have been consuming the drugs for the little kiddies. Good job, mah boy. Good job.
Nice theme song this week; brings back memories of when I was a kid coming home from church on Sunday afternoons and watching National Geographic videos (and Disney movies) after dinner. This was before I got into anime, but hey, it's one of the reasons why many of my friends think I'm so smart.
Have to hand it to Batou for being able to present a reasonable, intellectual defense in response to attacks on previous rants.
I'm just now seeing the trailers and movie posters for Cruise's 'Valkyrie' movie; what's it about; some Nazis that decided to rebel against Hitler or are they undercover spies? Is Cruise only making this because he now more or less owns his own studio (United Artists) and therefore feels that he can do whatever he wants to make up for the fact that less and less people want anything to do with him?
Side note: went to see the new Bond film last week and saw the trailer for the new 'Star Trek' movie; after the trailer (and a lot during it) I was kind of blinking quizzically and thinking "Er, is this really necessary?" I'd wondered who was responsible when across the screen comes the line 'From J.J. Abrams'. Ah, it all comes together, it's the guy that revamped 'Transformers'; Mr. Abrams, you little dickens, you're doing it again! Whether we want you to or not; this (referring to a point in last week's podcast) is what really happens when fans have enough money and stuff to make their own movie.
I might pay a dollar to keep up with a series being broadcast almost simultaneously with Japan; not 'Naruto', I wouldn't pay jack for that because it's been over-hyped and I was never into it to begin with. The new seasons of 'Slayers' on the other hand and some other things; yes.
I think I had to play cricket in elementary school gym class for a few weeks; never did get the hang of it. But having lived in England for a little over a year gave me a taste for sporting events outside of our U.S. arena stuff.

Every time I hear the Nat Geo theme now, I think of Crow from MST in the "Deadly Mantis" episode: Bababa Ba Ba, Bababa Ba Baba Baba Ba!
Yep, Hellsing and Vampire Hunter D definitely blow away most other stories in the vampire genre. In the case of Hellsing, quite literally blown away. *smacked for pun*
I figured you'd get around to my Nazi-movie comment. And I agree with you wholeheartedly. I was having a discussion with my uncle on Thanksgiving (mostly about nuclear policy and all that) and mentioned that Stalin murdered far more people than Hitler ever did. So yeah, I appreciate all the things you're saying. I'm not even sure why I left my original comment anymore. Oh well...
I agree with you, $1 per episode seems totally fair. In the end, it gives them a bit more to put back into what they do, and it's still less than half what you'll spend for a complete DVD set of a show.
Cricket's a game? I thought it was just an exercise in confusion.
Oh yeah, Secret Agent Super Dragon was a hoot. An Italian movie, dubbed into English, filmed in Amsterdam, and just full of really poor editing, with lines taken out and totally random and confusing scene jumps. Classic MST fodder. And if Tim ever wants to join, the invitation remains open.
Well, a lot of ranting again in this episode, but it was entertaining ranting.
