Also, a friend of mine who used to take kendo told me he swung by his old school after the show started airing and alleged that his sensei told him that attendance was up. True? Possibly. Funny story? Definitely.
Cheer up, guys, I got the 'Three's Company' ref. And, in another pop culture reference in regards to the Dragonball movie game . . . um, thing: Yoghurt from Spaceballs, "Merchandising, where the real money from the movie is made." I suspect this is where DBZ's creator is really planning to cash in.
I'll have to check into that Blood the Last Vampire trailer. Anyone else heard that scary rumor that some Hollywood person wants to do a U.S. live-action Death Note movie? (Calm down, fangirls, don't start your angsted wailing until we know for sure.)
With Funimation's newest acquisitions, I kinda liked Bamboo Blade. The rest of the stuff I'll just kinda meh. (And good heavens, why would anyone want to take Dragonauts seriously enough to actually liscense it? It should be left on a shelf as someone's weird mecha porn doujinshi thing.)
Yeah man, Dollhouse is pretty good so far. Eliza Dushku looks pretty good and has her work cut out for her, story's interesting and could go in a lot of directions, and the affably evil mind-wiping tech guy spouts pure, classic, convoluted Whedon-talk. Besides, we need to support our Joss in his new endeavour so he doesn't get screwed by the network - again.
As for the caption battle names . . . it's a personal little experiment I like to play with the obviously popular anime that have more or less permeated everyone's collective unconscious. Kinda like, "if you really don't know who these people are, we've got bigger problems." So yeah, those are voice actors - locals, too, so they're even better.
And don't be stupid. If you're gonna josh on a BC resident, you say it's pot, not acid. Get your stereotypes right, you Bronco-lovin' South Park cowtowners. Probably.

@cougarsama:
I'll vouch. Bamboo Blade was kinda amusing.
