And here I was thinking that this week was going to have not so many comments. Guys, I drive a school bus, and on Mondays, this podcast, as well as the main show, make the day go by a little easier. I dont like sitting in that bus for 11 hours a day, but if I can be entertained, laugh a bit, and possibly learn about what new shows out there I may want to watch, its all good.
Thanks again guys, keep up the good work.

Wow, lookit all the comments! Maybe Adam should post the podcast more often!
I'll comment on the show once my machine's back in service (which is hopefully sooner than later); I don't wanna risk streaming media on this computer which is already starting to show its age. As for whether my computer made any new friends over at the computer shop or not, I wouldn't know. Which then makes you wonder how the heck Adam knew.

My comments are rare because I listen to all kinds of podcasts throughout my workday and by the time I get home and sit in front of a computer, I have no clue which podcast talked about what. Was that theO Show? AP? MP? BBB? I can't keep track. I've already managed to reference AP in some of my past comments, and that starts to confuse people.
As a broad comment, I'll say that I really do enjoy the shows with you guys together much more than solo shows. You guys do fine by yourselves, but the dynamic of both of you on, arguing, joking, picking on each other - that's what I find hilarious.
One thing I'll mention from the podcast this week - If I flew into a country and was immediately detained for simply being near someone who had an illness on the plane, I would be ultra-pissed, especially considering how much of my trip that week would most likely eat up. If I'm paying $1000+ I don't want my trip ruined by paranoid people. It's a flu, not the plague. Japan panics like no other country. Case in point: Someone planted a bomb in a public trash can somewhere. Japan's response? No more public trash cans, anywhere. Way to overreact. >_< And no, I'm not certain that all the trash cans are gone...there just weren't any in the prefectures we visited.

Apparently complaining about a lack of comments will get you comments! I should try it on my blog and see if that helps! Nice to have Batou back and Ichigo back.
Swine flu puts me in mind of SARS a few years back in Toronto, and how much it got blown out of proportion. You're right- it's a flu bug like many others, but the media needs something to talk about or they won't sell newspapers. Oh, wait, they're not selling many newspapers these days anyways...
I'll be thinking about your podcast while I'm at Anime North this weekend seeing what good new anime I can find to watch in the coming year! Last year's find was Black Lagoon- a pretty awesome series! We'll see what we can find this time.
Screw pig flu... I blame white people for freaking out about it. It happened in Cuba in the 70's, and they handled it by killing off all the pigs in Cuba! Now, that's how you contain it!
Anime museum? Wow. That would definitely make anime fans want to go to Japan a whole lot more.
The podcasters asked for more comments and now they've got it. It's surprising to see the number of comments grow to 22 already. Does SomeGuy's absence have to do with this?...Uhh, forget it. I've said enough on that stuff.

Oh, I could care less if it was me or someone else, or if it reflects poorly on the show as a whole. We're not paid for it, and we really only do it because we like Adam and theO crew. I am comfortable with my own conduct, and I don't spend my time worrying about other people's conduct. Luckily for us your opinion is in the minority. If not we'd be having a different conversation :-)
If you have a problem with the content of the show, please let him know, but if you were curious why there is sometimes language which doesn't abide by the code of conduct, that's because we're not theO members doing something on a world, etc... we're contractors and thus only accountable to Adam for the content of the podcasts. Of course, anything we do through this account is tied to the CoC, but the podcast is not.
I already did. I'm the one who requested the disclaimer. So I already consider it resolved. I commented on Adam's funny typo and felt you deserved to know why I do not bother to listen to the actual show.
One other thing, regardless of who actually used the swear word in question, it reflects poorly on the podcast as a whole. You might want to keep that in mind instead of falling back on the "I rarely swear" card.
YO ichogo batou!! or whoever reads these comments, iv'e listened to this podcast for a while just on Itunes, so i think a lot of the reason you don't get many comments is that most people just listen on Itunes, sorry for my horrible spelling and/or grammar... the podcast is awesome.

I find that whenever I'm a guest poster/watcher to a World, it doesn't tell me all the time when there's a new post. Because possibly whoever posted I'm not subscribed to. So what I'm asking is, it would be helpful to be able to subscribe to a World.
Read the post, and the comments. I don't listen to the shows that I'm not on, and not knowing which episode you listened to, I don't know what you heard. I do know that I very rarely cuss, and when I do it's even more rarely the "F" word.
You can be forgiven for not knowing, although this comes up over and over again, but Adam asked us to do the podcast for theO, based on the success of our actual show, Anime Pulse. We have an agreement with him and do things or don't do things, as Adam asks us. If you have a problem with the content of the show, please let him know, but if you were curious why there is sometimes language which doesn't abide by the code of conduct, that's because we're not theO members doing something on a world, etc... we're contractors and thus only accountable to Adam for the content of the podcasts. I stopped using VLC ever since I found out that QuickTime could play .MKV files. Sometimes VLC would not show subtitles at playback (would require for me to turn them on) and once I turned them on, they would overlap when multiple characters spoke.
Are you talking about the Muscle March Wii game? That game just confused the heck out of me, but it just looks awesome. Just another crazy game from Japan.. XD.
Slow news day is slow.. -____-.. but good show, nonetheless.. =D
NOOOO! The show was cut short for me! Anyway, it looked like a so-so show. Not much news makes for a slow day. Oh well first time for everything. Sooner or later, there was gonna be a show that...well...sucked. Sorry to say that guys. Still a great show. Don't think you just lost a tenth of your fanbase.
Search on YouTube for "swine flu 1970" and you might find an ad about swine flu that was aired back in the 1970s. However, the swine flu then was of a different strain.
People are concerned about it because there's no vaccine to prevent them from getting it. But I think we shouldn't be too worried. Like Ron Paul said, it's not something that should get us all panicked. Millions of people die of tuberculosis every year, and yet why aren't we that panicked at such an alarming fact? It's not that we shouldn't be concerned about the (A)H1N1 flu virus; it's just that we shouldn't be too scared about it.
I really think prevention and having a good resistance is what can help us combat the swine flu.
I just wanted to say that the swine flu is actually not new. At least my music teacher who is ancient and looks like a female Albert Einstein said that in the 70's they closed her school and several around her because of the swine flu back then. So I don't think it's new. However, could be wrong. Really don't know why people are freaking out.....
First, the news. Honestly, the past week was a bit of a slow news week. Had a hard time looking for news in my top 4 sources. You can't blame the people if there ain't that much news to report in the first place.
Though I could've reported some significant things in the American anime community such as the thing with Fruits Basket in Macy's and stuff involving FUNimation and Viz. However, I find it very odd that I'm reporting news such as that when I'm a guy in the Philippines. I feel more comfortable with significant and interesting anime and manga developments in Japan, since I can relate more to it. Also, I think we have a good number of American reporters here, so I think they can do the reporting for American anime community developments. Too bad the news about Macy's and Fruits Basket wasn't reported.
There was also the news regarding the rape simulation game in Japan and the issue behind it. But I'm not sure if it's something we're allowed to report here.
And did you say "head" of the DPJ? So Hatoyama really did get appointed as leader of the party. Heh, the more you know. Just like to point out though that when he first made that criticism, he wasn't the head yet.
Lastly, does the 2008 The Otaku of the Year ring a bell to you? I'm wondering if you guys ever did take a look at this link in the Watercooler:
I posted this last January in the comments section, especially since you were part of it. However, you guys skipped the reading of the comments in the podcast that followed. It's something I find odd these days, now that you guys keep asking for our comments. No offense meant there, Sirs.

Ah, both Batou and Ichigo; a somewhat rare event these days.
Y'know, swine flu wouldn't be such a big deal except that nowadays people are a bit hypochndriacal due to fears of getting actually serious diseases like cancer and such so small colds scare us as a nation. That and the economy and job market being what it is, health insurance and being able to afford health care if one actually gets sick is a problem. But yeah, if one gets sick, it's like any other flu bug: rest, fluids, etc.
I love how the political opposition to the Japanese Anime Museum is the Democratic party over there; I see the U.S. influence is spreading in that if one major party is in power (i.e. Republicans), the opposing major party (i.e. Democrats) feels that they must snipe and say that everything is being done all wrong and is a stupid idea. It's kinda like in grade school (and beyond into adult life, in my observation) where when dividing into teams, someone always says, "I wanna divide up girls vs. boys because girls/boys are dumb/have cooties/suck!" (depending on the gender of the speaker.) No wonder no one can get anything done when we have such working conditions in our rulers. An anime museum could be a big tourist attraction, like Disneyland. Only we Americans (again bound by our near comatose economy) wouldn't be able to afford to go.
(Yeah, my focus does tend to lie in the state of the economy lately. Can't help it; money is a driving force. I wish we could go back to the barter system or somethingPr

@Adam:
Awww... Someguy's computer got "friend". That's sweet. It would really suck though if it also happened to get "fried". Heehee.
Thanks,
Ichigo
