I don't really care whose fault it was with the whole One Piece debacle; I watched the weekly fansubbed postings of the new seasons of Slayers when someone was putting them up on Youtube, but at least those people'd waited until the day after each episode was shown in Japan. People are just too impatient; in this technological society where one can find pretty much everything almost immediately, people mistake this to mean that they should post everything immediately, in which lies the error. But then I don't much care about One Piece or the new FMA series which Funi has subsequently also yanked.
I still find the idea of having the news read by an anime character amusing. I rarely watch the news nowadays, but if it was an anime character, I might. At any rate, it would make all the fearmongering and such from the likes of FoxNews more interesting.
And I'm looking forward to the release of the dubbed Spice and Wolf. Unless Funi screws it up, in which case I will be sad. (The best thing about that series though was really the end theme.)
Yeah, Ichigo was right about what I meant. "Lost" has me hyper about H-bombs these days. Good thing I'm nowhere near a shiny red button that reads "Do not push!" on it...

Doesn't the dual citizenship work for people of Japanese descent who are born in the United States as well? Except they have to choose one or the other when they're 16, if I recall.
Man, Funi screwed up bad... I hope this doesn't completely compromise their contract with Toei, 'cause I'd still like One Piece to be distributed in America. Although, it sounds like it will be. Damn. :/
I can't help but think that if you work as an animator in Japan, then you probably still live with your parents. That's just my guess.
First off, it's pronounced "dot hack" and spelled ".hack". Second, the .hack//G.U. Trilogy movie is a 90 minute CG film based off the plot of the three .hack//G.U. games. There, your little lesson in .hack today.
Anyone else who's curious, Dote Up a Cat is a Japanese dating sim, which is a type of game where the primary goal is to seduce one or more of a predetermined selection of girls (or guys, I suppose.) They tend to be somewhat graphic and as such don't get translated very often.
Dote Up a Cat features catgirls, with ears and a tail and such. It wouldn't really be notable at all if it weren't for the hilarious opening theme, which is in full, glorious, mangled Engrish and features such hilarious phrases as "You may praise a tail" and "Guu Guu book at night and dream in day." It's pretty much just stupidly hilarious.
I won't post the link here, since it has some questionable content and isn't exactly worksafe (it is an eroge opening, after all.) There's no nudity, but I'd feel a bit uncomfortable making it quite that accessible on a website that's supposed to be viewable by younguns. If you wan to see it yourself, look it up on Youtube. Just don't do it in the presence of other human beings, lest you be looked upon funnily.

lol. Imo, You have a warning that clearly states that cussing can be heard in the podcast, so if anyone is offended-- that's their own fault.
Oops about Funimation and the OnePeice Episode... At least that means the fans wanted to see it... Not like the "free doughnuts" were rejected. XD
Wow, I'm surprised by that. I thought that japanese animators would make more money than that. I think that the anime industry is something they would want to invest in.
Yah, I still can't believe people get angry about you guys swearing. They make it sound like they don't hear it at school, and if they don't hear it at school, then maybe they're not thirteen....(I don't know about you guys, but my buddies and I started perfecting the art of swearing in the fourth grade =_=;;)
*awkward laugh* yah, thanks for the clear up on the whole "naturalized citizen" thing. I really feel dumb about that because my mother actually is from Trinidad and Tobago and she came to the US and became a citizen about four years ago actually. O well...
I'm not angry at the subbers for the One Piece deal, I guess I'm not really angry at any person, rather angry at the whole situation. I mean, One Piece is friggen kick ass. I love watching it, and I would hate that it would get cut, and honestly, it really sucks that Funi might not be able to keep it, cause as much as the dub is a bit...off in my opinion (I was one of two people I know that didn't want the dub to be changed, just because I was so used to the voices by then) BUT I mean, that would be the third change if Toe actually gave the license to someone else at all!
A...hand puppet? o_O I mean, I've heard of dolls, pillows, and a whole lot of stuff, but hand puppets (I keep seeing the "Potter Puppet Pals" start to flash through my brain)?
LOL This .hack isn't actually so bad *glances over at username* the first GU game is pretty good, my only beef with it is Haseo is remarkably similar to Sasuke at the beginning (it doesn't help that Yuri Lowenthel does the voice). The story is good so far, I need to beat the rest of the games. I honestly can't think of a witty caption, I keep thinking of different phrases that I'd actually yell at Atoli cause she's that annoying. Think Sakura (from Naruto) mixed with Tohru, that's how bad it is.
