As she said those words, the gates swung open and three dark figures passed through them. Hoshi instantly stood up and, just to get the last word in, shouted “There are the bastards!” The Geisha all got up and charged, but they could not have foreseen the clever trap ahead of them.
Instead of standing their ground or scattering, as Hoshi believed they would react, they moved straight forward into the oncoming enemies. For a moment, all of the Geisha were looking directly into the eye of the largest one. Despite the great distance between them, they could tell he would show no mercy. Jun suddenly felt very scared. She turned around and started running. “Daichi!” she cried. After cursing, Hoshi directed the rest of the Geisha to run after her.
Soon, the Geisha were surrounded on three sides. The large one was at the back, with the other two covering left and right.

The smaller, dark haired human covered the right flank, preventing Inuko from breaking off. The man turned his face to hers, as if to confirm her identity. She got a good look at his face too: big teeth (with deluxe fangs), solid yellow eyes with bottomless-pit-black pupils, red fang tattoos on the cheeks accompanied by a noticeable amount of unshaveness. He pulled back, and Inuko looked forward. Up ahead, a pole was about to force the group to the left. This was her chance: If she jumped to the right, she could let the others pass, and then flank the brothers!
She went to the right side of the pole when her comrades went left and then turned around, waiting to position herself for an ambush. To her surprise, she never got the opportunity. The dark haired one, as if he had planned this all along, also went right of the pole. Seeing him still give pursuit, her eyes widened with fear and she began to run away again. She hears his rough, deep voice coming from behind her: “I’ve got her on the run now!”
