Basically a world in which to create a story between two users. Sounds like fun, huh?

Remembrance
"Narvel!" the children cried, rushing over to him excitedly. Narvel chuckled to himself and walked further into the brush.
"You've been so busy lately we scantly have a chance to see you!" Lian exclaimed.
"That's right. But in that situation, why are you here?" asked Sion.
Narvel scratched the back of his blonde head uneasily. The truth was that he had known about the children's presence since they started their quarrel. But when he noticed the dark and mysterious man watching them, he decided to investigate. The man seemed to know something...that piece of paper...
"Hey, are you paying attention? Town to Narvel!" Lian said impatiently.
Suddenly shifted out of his reverie, Narvel puts his hands on either of their heads and knocked them together.
"Nothing you two lovebirds would want to know about," he said mockingly.
"Take that back before I hurl!" retorted Sion.
"Yeah! You're so mean to us, Narvel!" shouted Lian.
"Shhh...If we're not careful, we'll all get caught. The ceremony's going to begin soon you know. You two better get back to town before the others going looking for you."
"But no one cares!" they shouted in unison.
"Liars. What about the other orphans? We all have to stick together!"
Narvel, though he was a guard, had also grown up on the streets of the town. He understood what it was like to go hungry for days upon end, with no refuge and no certain chance of survival. Town life was most difficult for those who could not support themselves.
But he was lucky. A nice family saw what kind of virtuous boy he was and decided to take him in. They nourished him and took excellent care of him. It was because of them he even had a current occupation. Because of the great favor they had done for him, he paid it forward, specifically towards the orphans in front of him. But then again, he had always contained a soft spot for them.
"Come on, Lian. Narvel's right. If we don't take our leave now, we may never have the chance."
Sion turned to him and looked him in the eyes. They both nodded their heads in agreement and turned back to Lian.
"Come on, we'll both go with you. But I can't stay long," said Narvel.
And so they began forth on their journey back to the town of sorrow and everlasting remorse, only to be faced with an even ruder awakening...
The Locale
Our story begins in an unnamed town, often called the "Urbs of Ago": the City of the Lives. Long ago a legend tells of a great tragedy, in which all the citizens of the town suffered a terrible fire. Several reports of the incident say that the fire was sent from the darkest pits of hell's wrath, sent to kill those who sinned and cast them into eternal damnation. Many lives were lost, hence the name.
But why this fire is so outstanding to the town's history is this: it is an island surrounded completely by water. Therefore, the witnesses of this catastrophe believed that the flames were from a source beyond our comprehension, with unconceivable power and might...
Today that town stands no better than it had before, with dingy streets made of cobblestones and brick layers, and buildings so dilapidated that they are almost uninhabitable. The adults of the town farm for their own food, for ships almost never come to the town for belief that it is haunted. The children, once they are of working age, begin to assist in their parents' work.
Some of these children, however, are rebellious and find themselves in lodged in deep mischief, for they are orphans of an unkind world...
"Hey, no fair! You cheated," a girl shouted.
"Nu uh, you just stink at this game," a boy shouted in return.
"Admit it Sion or I'll punch you!"
"I didn't do anything Lian!" he retorted.
The two children were in the outside skirts of a forest not far off from the town. There was not much foliage, as the fateful fire had burned everything to a crisp, though some had barely survived.
Supposedly it was the starting point of the fire of long ago. Therefore, it was marked as a forbidden place to everyone except the priests, which would come to exorcise the area regularly. Stories of the souls trapped in the woods were common throughout town, which lead to the panic of the people. The priests, wishing to appease them, began regular exorcisms.
Guards patrolled the area just outside of the forest's borders. However, some were stationed jus inside the perimeters of the accursed site, where the two children were having a row. Unfortunately, the two were too engrossed in their quarrel to realize they were indeed not alone.
The girl, Lian, who was of very short-tempered personality, punched the boy with all her might. She had a short stature, but a great deal of power. She also had fiery crimson locks and bluish green eyes. Her skin had a pale complexion, which reflected the light from sun.
The boy, Sion, rubbed the shoulder miserably and aimed a blow at the girl's knee, hoping to get revenge. He was a brunette with olive-green eyes and with a normal stature. His skin was also pale, but less than the girl's.
The two stopped abruptly when a mysterious cloaked figure stepped out from the woods.
