Art Studio Update
There are always a few cool things going on in our Art Studio.
The most popular thread, by far, is the annual Graphic Worm project. It's pretty cool and it always brings together some of OtakuBoards' best artists each year.
Currently the 2008 Graphic Worm is still taking submissions. If you do choose to submit an image, just remember to read the rules on the first page of the thread.
If you actually visit the Graphic Worm mini-site, you'll see how all the pieces come together - it's a pretty innovative idea and I'm very proud of all the Members who contribute to it!
Thread of the Week
Welcome to our first ever Thread of the Week. I'm going to post a new featured thread every weekend - and it could potentially come from any part of the community.
I thought I'd start with something of a classic this week, from Manga Alley (a forum that doesn't get nearly enough love!)
Naruto Manga is currently the largest active thread in Manga Alley, with over 650 replies so far.
Seems like there's a lot of interesting discussion going on in there, so I highly recommend this one for Naruto fans. However, I should point out that this thread is littered with spoilers - so enter at your own risk!
Arcade Update
So, our Arcade forum has seen some pretty interesting threads lately. I figure it's always worth starting with a question:
I've personally always found the genre "MMORPG" to be a mouthful - I've always preferred "Online RPG". Maybe that's just me.
New user MoonlightNexus suggests that we create an official Super Smash Bros. Brawl League for theOtaku.com (perhaps myOtaku will become a little outdated soon? Who knows?)
What do you guys think? And, more importantly, who actually plans to buy SSBB?
I'm looking forward to it, but I have to admit, I have no idea when it will launch in Australia. Hopefully we won't have to wait too long!
Anime Thread Update
So here we are with our very first OB World post! I figured I'd dive right into the deep end and begin by featuring a couple of the latest anime discussions in the Anime Central forum.
Does anime rely on its American fans?
It's a pretty interesting question; how exactly do you define "popular anime"? Does an anime only become popular once it's dubbed for American audiences? Some interesting discussion to kick things off, for sure.
Okay, so, no doubt your portfolio is full of references to anime you love. What about the anime you can't stand? This thread asks the simple question (and it's become a pretty long discussion - there's a lot of hate out there! Ouch!)
