I should point out that I never said the RPGs I listed were stellar as such. My intention was just to point out some of the latest RPGs on the site.
Yeah, but think about it like this: you as Site Administrator pointing out certain RPs is like subtly giving them your stamp of approval. And you didrecommend it.
Now granted, Vicky's games are usually really well-set up—as we've discussed before—and the crew was pretty solid, so I understand the initial thought behind the recommendation in the first place.
But....
Having said that, if an RPG has gone off course, that is a matter between the writers and the creator.
Oh, it's not that. Nothing's really off about the course of the game as far as plot or story goes.
I just didn't sign up to play a porno.
I know that's blunt. But I'm tired of dancing around the subject. And it's not the creator's fault, or the fault of most of the cast. It's one or two players who have no taste. And I know griping to you isn't really fair, since you're shouldn't be required to deal with that kind of thing. I just need to get this set straight.
So while content is by and large determined by the players as a whole, one or two bull-headed individuals can ruin a game for everyone. There's a large difference between accepted content and force-fed content, and that's what happened there. Half the problem also is that members who do this are sometimes glossed over because of longevity to the site and friendships/connections that they might have made; whereas newer, fresher members are more prone to being heavy-handed right off the bat. That makes it a collective fault, then: one half willful abuse of privileges and one half favoritism.
I think it's important to point out something related to content.
theOtaku.com's policy surrounding PG-13 material specifically relates to fan fiction on this site - it is not relevant to OtakuBoards (assuming that you are referring to that PG-13 guideline).
The reason for this is simple: theOtaku.com has a greater depth and breadth of content, without the inherent ability to moderate all content as effectively as can be done on OtakuBoards. Collaborative works are also inherently self-moderating much of the time, which is something you simply don't see with fan fiction.
As a result, theOtaku.com has to maintain a rating restriction for all content as a way of providing blanket moderation. It's a blunt tool, but it's the only real option when you don't have appropriate self-moderation.
We had discussed allowing more mature examples of work on the site - and this was not objected to by Adam or anyone else. The issue was simply that it would be very difficult (likely impossible) to be effectively moderated within this domain.
OB is a very different kettle of fish, for the reason I've outlined above.
So, my linking to content on OB (of any kind) does not violate that particular policy.
Having said that, if there are ever specific complaints about an RPG or a piece of writing on OB... then that should definitely be looked at by our staff. I would welcome a PM about that, as is appropriate.
When all is said and done, I should also point out that I place a great deal of faith in the intelligence and maturity of our members. For this reason, I expect that if people come across a piece of fictional work that they do not like, they will simply avoid it.
Perhaps content and content control should be the subject of a future blog post on here, because it's an area that I would gladly sink my teeth into.

I think blogging about stuff that's happening on OB is a good idea, in addition to simply linking threads every now and then. It's more interesting and gives visitors a better idea of what things are like on OB before being tossed into the middle of the threads.
Perhaps you guys can tell me whether or not you’re even interested in a blog aspect to this page. I would like to look at giving out more posting permissions to key OB staff, so that they can blog and update the areas that interest them. What do you think?
I think it's a good idea. :p Though I'm not sure just how to go about blogging about a particular area of OtakuBoards. Though that could just be on account of my always being busy with school work and having never entertained the idea seriously before.
:p In general I think it's a great idea. RPG's at OtakuBoards are pretty complex in my opinion. Some more free flowing where others are collaborative on a very high level. I think that's a huge part of the attraction, the freedom to take it whatever direction you like since you can always find others who enjoy doing things the same way you do.
Adventure square could use some attention since it does have a lot going on there. Also, I sent you a pm in regards to something concerning this post...
On second thought, I wouldn't advise looking into G&C II. Certain persons have taken it down a less-than-stellar road, and I'm pretty sure it'll die soon.
I at least have lost interest in continuing it. And that's a first for me.

I have taken out the link to G&CII just in case, as I've only looked through the first half of it.
