NNHS 4TH YR. BATCH 2010-2011 RECOLLECTION
RECOLLECTION (here in the Philippines, not sure if the other countries do this) is an event for graduating students wherein they spend a day sharing a lot of things. It depends on what activities people organized. But most of the time, students reminisce a lot of memories, spend the day to the fullest, take pictures with everyone, give/receive "recollection letters" to/from their most special friends, learn a lot of lessons, and cry a lot. I didn't cry, I just got emotional since I prefer being happy than being sad in front of my friends.
Not all do this in the country though. Still, it can be celebrated in a simple or in an elegant way. Since we are in a public school, we celebrated it in a cheapest way (we just paid PHP50 for the place itself and we had to bring our own food). It doesn't matter if the place was just a few steps from our school, what matters most is the memories and how we're going to spend the day. Here are some notable pics I would like to share:
-
[1] One of my favorite pictures from the recollection day, it was a shot from classmate.
[2] All students were obliged to have a nameplate with their desired name/nickname. Our section's name was white so our nameplates are all white and below the name is the quotation "doing your best is better than being the best". If you guys read my posts, that quotation came from the success of our musical play. Mine was "Jho" since its what my classmates call me.
[3] The second and the third guy are my classmates and were the representatives of our section. They are called on stage to share to every fourth year what makes our section unique. The guy in the middle (the second one) shouted to everyone how much he loves his girlfriend (who is actually our classmate and a close friend of mine).
[4] The guy with the yellow shirt (wearing a cap) placed himself along with the facilitators posing like he is one! Facilitators wear a yellow shirt. His shirt was originally white and he changed wardrobe after a few hours after.
[5] He is still posing like a facilitator for a while already! And later he was scolded. We all burst to laughter because of that! XD
[6] Our Math teacher (as well as adviser # 2, the one with glasses) received a "nice and warm group hug" from us! :D
[7] After the recollection, we went to Jollibee (a famous fast-food chain in the Philippines - with branches outside the country!) and tried their new "Coke Float" (a Coke with ice cream on top).
[8] A picture of us inside Jollibee! Take note that I'm the one winking! ;)
[9] A goofy picture of mine in Jollibee. I looked weird so I edited it and made it even more weirder! :P
Our teacher said that we should tell our parents to make a letter for us and we'll submit it to our teacher for the recollection day (without reading it already before even submitting!). My parents said they were too busy to make one (even just a really short one) and I was very disappointed. I asked my grandmother to make one for me and she said it was alright. I don't really mind it at all, I'm more close to my grandparents than my own parents. But somehow, i really felt sad when they told me they can't do one for me. It made me think that they really can't give me even just a few moments... I forced myself not to cry about it. So here's my grandmother's letter for me, short but meaningful for me, I translated it in English since it was originally in Tagalog:
For you Josephine;
In four years of persevering at facing difficulties while studying, finally you are about to graduate. "Congratulations" to you. Even though waking you up is a pain-in-the-ass (I think that's the best translation on how she wakes me up for school) everyday, I will never get tired of being patient, just for the sake of your studies.
I hope you continue your perseverance in college. I thank you for graduating and again "congratulations."
From your grandmother
I really felt happy reading the letter that time. It made me feel I'm special even to just one person... Most of my classmates cried when they read their letters but i didn't. Crying makes me think negative so I did my best to stay happy.
Nothing really special... just sharing it! :))
Check out my new card:
It s inspired from this song, "Break Down" by B2ST (or BEAST):
you've got to see this
A Dog's Ultimate Loyalty
A very touching moment between an injured dog and a weakened dog wherein the latter tries his best to "protect" the other from the approaching reporters. Very heartwarming and its nice to know that these moments happen even in the most sensitive situations.
Translation by: Toshiyuki Kitamura
We are in Arahama area. Looks like there is a dog. There is a dog. He looks tired and dirty. He must have been caught in the tsunami. He looks very dirty.
He has a collar. He must be someone's pet. He has a silver collar. He is shaking. He seems very afraid.
Oh, there is another dog. I wonder if he is dead.
Where?
Right there. There is another dog right next to the one sitting down. He is not moving. I wonder. I wonder if he is alright.
The dog is protecting him.
Yes. He is protecting the dog. That is why he did not want us to approach them. He was trying to keep us at bay.
I can't watch this. This is a very difficult to watch.
Oh. Look. He is moving. He is alive. I am so happy to see that he is alive.
Yes! Yes! He is alive.
He looks to be weakened. We need to them to be rescued soon. We really want them rescued soon.
Oh good. He's getting up.
It is amazing how they survived the tremendous earthquake and tsunami. It's just amazing that they survived through this all.
sad and scared
I'll just list them instead:
- Our graduation will be on April 7, the time for me and my friends and soon to end.
- It was rumored that the radiation in Japan might come here in the Philippines, but good thing the government confirmed it's not true.
- My classmate's mother is still in Japan. they lost communication with her and she is presumed to be missing since she was taken by the tsunami's flow. Until now, there's still no contact nor verification about her.
- Japan experienced another earthquake w/ magnitude 6 or something.
- The Marikina Valley Fault was moving according to PHIVOLCS. It was last active over 200 years ago. Making it possible for the Philippines to experience an earthquake anytime. And our current location will totally be affected.
I'm so scared right now... :(
I don't know what I'll do when that earthquake happens!
I fear for our house. I fear for our belongings. I fear for my friends. I fear for my family. And lastly, I fear for my own life...
Our Prom
As usual, I'm not showing my sh*tty face to you guys. Our prom was held on March 11, 2011. I really had fun and I'm happy since I was able to dance with my friends and even my crush! ~♥
I'm so happy I have souvenirs of all the dances I had, even with girls! :P
That same day was also the 8.9 magnitude earthquake and tsunami that attacked Japan. :(
great achievements!!! :))
I love the nice series of the achievements I'm getting this 2011!
1. I MANAGED NOT TO SLEEP IN FOUR DAYS!
--> I already mentioned everything about it in this post. But I still can't get over on how I actually managed to survive it!
2. TWO WINNING ENTRIES IN ONE CHALLENGE!
--> That's right! The challenge Let's Work Together! just ended recently. I'm so happy to know that of the 3 collab walls I had, 2 of it ACTUALLY won as first and second place!
These were my walls that I had collab with:
The first one is my personal favorite though it did not win. But still, I'm happy since I improved a lot little! Besides, I'm too ambitious if ALL of my collab walls actually won... *I'm praying that it would actually happen! -_-*
Hanaro Souhi also a lucky one! Its a coincidence that we both had two winning collab wall entries in that challenge. It is a very nice coincidence.
~ Nothing really special.... just sharing!
<peace out!>
