Hm, they probably put for all food that ban law, because they find it hard to control so it is the easiest for them to be sure in that way. I can understand your anger about it though..

And sorry to hear about that flood again... It really must be hard when such important things get damaged. I also have a teddy bear and a robot which were one of my first presents ever.
