I hate to disagree with you, but there's nothing indicating that each dragon is associated with a specific mark. The dragons only seem to represent the signers themselves. For example, Stardust Dragon's effect to negate all destruction effects represents Yusei's wish to protect his friends. As for Yusei getting the mark of the dragon's head, the head mark seems to represent the leader of the signers. Obviously neither of the Goodwin brothers could properly wield the mark, the Crimson Dragon picked Yusei for the job. I will agree with you on one thing though. Not having Black-Winged Dragon in Luna's original vision of the Crimson Dragon's battle with the Earthbound Immortals is kind of a screw up on the writer's part.

The mark of the tail used to be Yusei's till Rex Goodwin became a dark singer & since then he has the head & crow has the tail marks now.
