[BREAK] Scroll 2 - Daughter of the Taijutsu Master, Mitsuchi Lee! As an alarm went off, a hand shot out from under a futon to silence the noise. The quilt slid off and a drowsy female sat up and yawned. She stretched and rubbed the ...PNG: Chapter 1
Scroll 1 - The Troublemaking Trio, Uzumaki and Hyuuga!
"I've gotta say, Kazuki, this is one of your better ideas."
Akiiki whipped his paintbrush across the stone. Green paint left its gleaming mark.
"Yeah, I don't know why I didn't think of it before," Kazuki grinned.
"Yeah, well, let's just hope we don't get caught again."
As if on cue, two jonin teachers appeared on the catwalk. They stared at disbelief at the graffiti, then pointed accusing fingers.
"Hey, what do you kids think you're doing?!"
"Uh-oh, time to spilt."
Instantaneously, the three dropped their brushes and paint and leapt away across the rooftops. The teachers followed in hot pursuit. As they were closing in, Hoshime called out to her brother.
"I think it's time for your show to start, brother!"
Akiiki grinned. He screeched to a halt on a roof and made a few quick hand signs.
"Kaze Sakkaku No Jutsu!"
Thick clouds of smoke erupted around Akiiki, Hoshime and Kazuki. As it dissipated, Akiiki could be seen leaping away with his comrades. The teachers noticed and quickly followed, yelling for them to stop.
"Nice move, cousin of mine," came Kazuki's voice.
Down on the ground, the three appeared right out of the wall.
"Another new illusion jutsu, brother?"
Akiiki beamed with pride. "Yep. Brand new. This was its first test."
"Very impressive. I didn't think you'd have enough brains to actually invent new jutsus."
The three jumped a foot in the air. They swiveled their heads behind them. An older masked man with white hair and his headband over his left eye stared down at them.
"What have you three been up to?" he asked.
"Nothing!" they answered together.
Kakashi raised an eyebrow. "If you're anything like the Hokage, then it's never 'nothing'. Ah nevermind, I don't really care, but I suppose I'll have to take you home now. Unless, you'd rather those jonin catch you?
They flinched at that. Kakashi smiled under his mask. "Well then, let's go."
Kakashi grabbed their collars and dragged them off towards the Hokage's house.
Naruto was working quietly when he heard a knock at the door. He heard his wife's voice.
"I'll get it," she said.
Naruto heard voices speaking, but he didn't pay much attention. When he heard his wife shriek, he jumped from his chair and ran to the front door.
"Hinata, what's..." He stopped in mid sentence. Standing in his walkway was his old sensei, his nephew and his two children.
"What's going on?" he asked. Akiiki and Hoshime stared at the ground. Kazuki stared out the window.
"Well," Kakashi said, "It seems that your offspring have the same tendencies you did. Just look out your window." He pointed.
Naruto and Hinata peered at the window. What they saw nearly made Hinata pass out. The stone faces of the past Hokages had paint splattered all over them. Naruto glared at his children.
"Well, then I'll leave you to it," Kakashi said brightly. He turned and walked out the door. Naruto stood before his children and nephew.
"Did you do that?" he asked. No response. "How could you do that..." They cringed, waiting for it. "And leave me out of the fun!?"
Akiiki and Hoshime stared at their father. He wore a proud grin. "You two really are my kids. And Kazuki, I never knew you had it in you."
SMACK. Hinata had recovered from her spell. She whacked her husband on the back of the head.
"How can you sit there and praise them like that? It was wrong of them and you know it. Kazuki, I expected better of you. Your father is already disappointed in you, do you want to dig yourself a deeper hole?"
Kazuki hung his head. "Sorry, Aunt Hinata."
Hinata crossed her arms. She sighed. "I suppose this was expected of you two, you are your father's children, but you've gone to far this time. I want that paint cleaned off today. Now."
Three hours and six sore arms later, Akiiki, Hoshime, and Kazuki had finished scrubbing the paint off. The sun was setting over the houses and its light bounced off the glistening stone. Kazuki sat down next to his cousin, heaving a tired sigh.
"Tomorrow's the graduation exam," he said.
"Yeah, I hope I pass this time, I don't want to fail again."
"Don't worry, Akiiki! With all that studying and training you did with me, you're sure to pass!"
"But you know," Kazuki said, "We might not get put on the same genin team."
Hoshime stared down at the houses. "I hadn't thought of that. I guess we can't be together forever."
Akiiki stretched and leaned against the stone. "Ah, you guys worry too much. I wouldn't waste my time over stuff like that. It'll be a major drag, that's for sure, but hey, life happens."
"Hey kids!"
The three looked up to see Naruto standing atop the 3rd Hokage's head. He jumped down onto the suspended catwalk and leaned over them.
"What are you three so depressed about? Tell you what, let's head over to Ichiba Bar. You need some cheering up." He grinned at them and they couldn't help but smile back.
The group of four walked under the Ichiba norean banners and took their seats. The place was pretty deserted. Naruto smacked his hand on the counter.
"Hey, how bout some service here!"
A bearded man with a cigarette sticking out of his mouth turned from the stove. He scowled at Naruto.
"Geez, do you never give me a break?" He looked at the three sitting next to his. "I see you brought company. Four of the usual, then?"
The food was done in ten minutes. Akiiki slurped down his noodles, while his sister ate with a little more dignity. Kazuki just sat there and poked the pork pieces.
"Come on kid, this is top stuff here. Eat some of it at least."
"Kazuki, are you okay? Is something bothering you?" Hoshime asked.
Kazuki smiled nervously. "Naw, I'm okay, really. I'm just not that hungry, that's all." He continued to play with the food.
"Ah, that was good. You never cease to amaze me, Shikamaru."
"Glad you enjoyed it. By the way, I've got a few new dishes I'd like you to try. Mind coming over sometime tomorrow?"
Naruto gave him the thumbs up. "No problem. Anything to try new ramen!"
Naruto paid the bill and they hopped off the stools. Kazuki turned towards his house, but Naruto stopped him.
"You know you're welcome at our house anytime.," he said.
"I know, but Mom gets worried if I don't come home for a while." He waved at Akiiki and Hoshime. "I'll see you guys tomorrow!" Kazuki turned at ran off towards his house.
He opened the door and took off his shoes.
"Mom! I'm home!"
A woman walked into the entry hall. "You were out rather late," she said.
"Sorry Mom, but Akiiki and Hoshime invited me to dinner. Is Dad home?"
His mother's face fell. She bit her lower lips.
"I see. Its okay, Mom, he'll come back soon. He has to."
