I have a horror story involving Generation 3 Roaming Legendaries. Well, horror story for eleven-year-old me, at least. I could never, EVER catch frickin Latias. Ever. And ever since I saw the fifth movie at maybe age nine, I'd been obsessed with Latias and really wanted her. But she'd never stay in one frickin place! So it took me three years, but I went to the Pokemon 10th Anniversary, where they were giving out a lot of Pokemon. And I got an Umbreon, taught it Mean Look, and tracked down the frickin Latias and got her to stay in one damn place.
And then I knocked her out.
This was before I knew that I could just save and reset. I was an idiot. I actually knocked out Kyogre, too. Stupid little kid me.
But I've hated roaming Pokemon with a passion ever since -_-
Oh, that's a good point. Those *bleep* Roaming Legendaries are a pain. And in generation three and beyond, using Hypnosis to put them to sleep won't keep them from running away, unlike in Gold, Silver, and Crystal.
I want to save my Master Ball for one of the roaming legendaries, though there are two in Platinum so I'm gonna have to make a choice...Roaming legendaries annoy the crap out of me, so I always use my Master Ball on one. Since most legendaries stay in the same place, I just save right beforehand and keep chucking Ultra Balls until I need to reset ^^;
I didn't play Platinum until very recently, so it's fresh in my mind. The Distortion World is insane. It's pretty cool, but a bit too short in my opinion. Riding up an upside-down waterfall (so basically riding down a waterfall) was my absolute favorite part. And that battle with Giratina and frickin Shadow Force gave me SO MUCH GRIEF. I had prepared for a level 40 Legendary, so all my Pokemon were level 45-ish. Turns out it was actually a level 45 Legendary that had a super-effective move for all of my Pokemon. Thank god for my Crobat, he was a tank who survived long enough for me to stuff the frukin thing in an Ultra Ball. But I still love Giratina anyway ^^;

Hey, at least they still stay in one place in HeartGold and SoulSilver.

Wow, ouch. That really had to suck.
By the way, did you know that Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres appear in Platinum as Roaming Pokemon?

Didn't you try using the Master Ball on it?
