I just checked and haven't found anything yet...since I'm not planning on using any fossil Pokemon on my team, I'm not going to spend a whole ton of time looking, but whenever I pass by the Ruins I'll be taking a look ^^

All you do is just smash the rock, hit the A button, and there's a chance you'll find an item.

At the Ruins of Alph you could find a Dome Fossil and I think maybe the Old Amber by using Rock Smash.

Yeah, there's nothing there that I really want, but maybe I'll come back when I have surf and everything like that.

There was a patch of grass on that one route where the Sudowoodo is near Violet City in Crystal. I guess they took that out in HeartGold and SoulSilver.

So did you skip the Ruins of Alph then?
