Actually, I have pretty good luck with happiness-based evolutions. I think it's because I don't usually let my Pokemon die. And I always keep the Pokemon I'm trying to evolve at the front of the party. I got my Golbat to evolve into a Crobat maybe two or three levels after it evolved from a Zubat ^^;
Though the last time I played SoulSilver I was in Cianwood when my Eevee evolved, so I dunno...

Maybe the next time I play through Emerald I'll use a happiness evolution to see if I can tell any difference....

I did do a little happiness based evolution in Ruby and Sapphire (I ended up raising twin Pichu). I guess I didn't really notice a difference.

@Darkarax:
It could be? I've actually only attempted happiness evolutions in the Gen IV games so I can't really compare to Gen III...

Well it seems like you can evolve them quicker than I ever have been able to.
Though maybe it's a little easier in the remakes.

Happiness triggered evolution (or taming as I think it's called) can take a lot of time. Believe me, I know.
Good luck taking on Morty.
