Like everyone said, I think it's that someone deleted their account because trust me, I lose subscribers often lol
Buuut I can't help but to agree, some artists are really stuck up and think way too highly of themselves and it gets under my skin. x(

I think the previous two members answered your questions perfectly^^ I get your frustration my friend..Do let it bother you to much, Ive been on here for 10 years now and I've just hit the 600 mark and lost abut 50 subscrbers in the time i've been here.. back then theO was alot more active as it is now so getting more subscribers was alot easier..
Next time you lose a subcriber just keep an eye out for your subscriptions..If you had for example 100 subscriptions and now have 99 that means someone deleted his or her account... when that happens you'll lose a subscription and a subsciber at the same time depending if they subbed you back....
People got lazy my friend sometimes its to much of a hassle for them to sub you back.Or they don't like your art style..sad but true... Try not to take it personaly ^^ people just don't have the same taste as others...
Good things comes 2 those who wait, The things you lost will always replace something better..
I agree with Judai in that it's probably someone who just deleted their account. It most likely has nothing to do with you. And about your not having 50 subscribers yet - I've been (relatively) active for three and I just barely have over 100. I think that part can be attributed to, once again, people not being active anymore. People who were around when things where more active might have 400 subscribers, but only 50 of those 400 are active. So then, years later, you jump in, get those same 50 subscribers, and while 50 compared to 400 doesn't seem like much, it's still the same amount of people reading your content as the other person.

Honey, people just aren't as active on theOtaku anymore or they are still here but they've moved on to other websites.
I honestly don't think it is anything personal to do with you. To me it sounds like somebody just deleted their accounts...yes I know how frustrating it is to loose subs. I've lost plenty over the 10 years I've been here. People come and go, your true friends are the ones that will stick around no matter what in the end. Pay attention to those people, don't worry about the drifters...
