I thought I'd make a quit note on the format, since I'm here. We are now progressing into FTK format. If you don't run hand traps in a tournament, you're probably not getting a turn.

I heard rumours of 12000 LP per player. But as time goes on that seems less and less likely. I'm still waiting on a bigger extra deck. But no, more cards to cram into that tiny space. 4 different types of monsters in there. I'm excited for VRAINS, but I don't feel like my Extra Deck will be much use anymore, given the lack of space. I'll probably just focus more on popping Graydles with the right card. Because adding the 3+ LINK monsters necessary to actually pull off the Bishbaalkin play is going to take away from the other monsters I can summon with Tzolkin. I'm already cutting it short, since the only monster I actually have 2 is is Mithrilium, and even that will have to be dropped to 1 now. This has me duly concerned, but I suppose I could always make a new Graydle deck designed for VRAINS. I can't wait to see how much the game changes! Will we still even be in a negate format by then?
reads the first LINK monster Mmm yeah, I think that's a safe bet.
To me though, it kind of seems like once the new VRAINS era rules come into play, there will probably be a sort of "back to basics" effect that will hit the game where a lot of people will use more classic strategies that don't rely too much on an Extra Deck.
Due to the long unchanged ban list I watched a video describing a solution. It was unban everything and set every broken deck ever made against one another for a couple of months and watch the anarchy flow...am I the only one who wants to see this happen?
The thing about Xyz Monsters is that they're probably the easiest kind of Extra Deck monster to summon since they don't really need Spell cards or special monsters like Tuners. That's kind of what makes them so versatile. I don't know if the new rules about the Monster Zones will affect how they're summoned much, but you'd probably only be able to get out two or three Xyz Monsters out on the field at a time depending on the Link Monsters you summon first.
Actually, I think Fusion Monsters will probably have more of an advantage during the VRAINS era, since you can summon them using monsters from the hand.
It will that's true, I've never been one to rely too much on my extra deck for any of my decks considering I'm not trying to replicate decks that I've seen in the show. My Blue eyes deck is much different from Kiba's deck, so it really can't be called a replica deck. I can see how it's going to be difficult for the other decks to adapt and I wonder how the XYZ monsters are going to work now with these new rules.
I think they did it a couple of days to maybe a few weeks after the announcement of link summoning. People like summoning a bunch of to be perfectly honest endearing beast-warriors who have lots of cool effects that break people to tears in anguish. That and zoodiac has some fans that really really want to make unbreakable boards.
Some of the zoodiac monsters are endearing, but with the whole one card xyz can drive people to rage.
Imagine in 5ds crew heroes and villains had to go up against a guy with a predaplant synchro deck and busted out greedy venom, crystal wing, and a dragostapelia in one turn.
Well, a lot of the strategies that have come out in recent years have been relying more and more in the Extra Deck, so I'm pretty sure that ninety percent of the players out there reacted the same way.
I think it should be pretty easy to adapt a Blue-Eyes deck to these new rule changes. While those decks seem to rely a bit on Fusion and Synchro Monsters, they don't rely on getting all of those monsters out onto the field. I mean I'm not exactly an expert on the Blue-Eyes deck, but I'd think that once you got Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon onto the field, you'd be golden. Such a feat would still be easy enough to do with these new rules, since you'd only have to worry about using the one monster zone. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong though.
Now any type of deck that relies almost totally on the Extra Deck, like Elemental Heroes, Speedroids and Gagaga decks, those are probably going to have a somewhat harder time adapting.
It seems like it would be complicated at first, but also quite simple once you play a round or two with your friends. I don't mind the extra challenge and strategy changes. You have to change your strategy for every opponent you play anyways, so why not give it a shot. Me personally, I'm going to try my best to modify my three main decks to work with this new system. I'm not letting my blue eyes deck be thwarted by some new rules.
Wow as if dueling wasn't hard enough with the new summons. Well not all of them are new but well they would be new to me if I ever started playing the game again. I just miss the traditional way of.playing when.it wasn't so.bloody complicated. But I will give this new series a chance.

For some reason, I'm picturing the Lunalights and Magician Gals having tea on top of that pile of monsters.
