The Winter Wolf

One winter's evening,
I lay there on the hill
The frost was brushing my face
He came along, sat next to me
It was then, I saw his face.

His deep, dark brown eyes,
His kind comforting smile,
I knew the wolf was no threat;
He saved me from my loneliness,
For that I am in his debt.

We stayed together,
Through those long winter months
Me and him like family.
Keeping eachother from harm's way,
Whatever that ill may be.

I'd found a new love,
A new brother to love,
A love I had never known.
But when spring came, he dissapeared,
Again I was on my own.

Then every winter,
I'd sit there on that hill,
Waiting for him to return
Sometimes he didn't, sometimes he did
But patience I'd yet to learn...

One of those winters
A young man came along
And swept me right off my feet
Preposed to me, and I said yes,
For he is the sweetest you'll meet.

But he did not stay,
He wanted me with him
But I couldn't leave just yet,
I couldn't leave my brother
That man, I'd only just met.

When my brother died,
I was very upset
I went back to my lost friend
I Stayed with him back in his world
Our love was sure not to end.

But never will I forget,
The winter wolf I met
On that cold winter's eve
But from my heart, he shall never leave.
