I understand what you're saying since I'm actually not that technologically advanced either.
I honestly couldn't tell you the difference between an iPad and an iPod (or what either of them do).
I'd probably use the computer more if it was as fast as my phone. Like right now I'm typing this on my phone because it was right next to me and I'm like 'yay, instant internet!". Whereas a computer would take a few minutes to turn on and get on the internet.
I think the new technology is just more convenient.
