Everyday was the same. These humans would come and try to look for me but I would just stay on the rock. Some days I would venture down the the grassy area under the edge of the rock there it goes down to the fence. After a while the humans put a tree in and I often was found there “relaxing” in the sun. but really the whole time here I was trying to figure out how to get out of here and calculating my escape.
It was two years of this till the day finally came for me to get out of here.
For weeks I allowed my nails to grow and sharpen. Today was the day that I would break free and get out of here. Where I would go, I wasn't sure yet but I couldn't stand being in here any more. If my plan worked right my “handler” should open the door at the bottom of the cage to feed me. Since it was summer going through the tunnels was hot and tiring. I waited in anticipation and when my “handler” opened the door I attacked. I jumped down from my rock and ripped at their chest, making them fall back and away from me. I quickly went through the door and sprinted. It wasn’t long till the alarms went off and there was humans with dart guns running towards me in all directions. I dodged through the screaming humans visiting the zoo and jumped over objects in my way. When I reached the front gate it was close and there was the humans with the dart guns. I growled and ran right at them. They tried to shoot at me but the mass of visiting humans got in their way and I quickly jumped my way over the gate wall.
When I got to the other side of the gate the humans with the dart guns started firing through the gate to try and get me. I dodged past the cars and into the road. A loud honking noise was coming from my right and I quickly looked to see that a car was coming at me. With my adrenaline high I quickly dodged out of the way rolling to the side of the road and rolled to a run. I ran down the road to what looked like a city. When I got to the city I shrink down and walked in the shadows.
I tried to survive on these street but this kind of wild was different than the one I was use to. I was also out of practice when it came to fighting and often when I got in fights for food I didn't get far or much.
One day, after I don't know how many day, weeks or months, I was walking through the shadows looking for some food. It wasn’t long till I felt a presence behind me. I looked back behind me and found several Hybrids following after me. I quickly started running as fast I could. I ran for a good bit but my luck ran out when I turned down the wrong way and hit a dead end alley. I growled at the incoming hybrids and stood my ground. My back was now against a wall and there was no place for me to go.
“ We don’t want to hurt you darling. Just want to talk.” Said the one at the front. He seemed to be the leader and he was the biggest of them.
I skuft. “ Yeah, sure. All you want to do is talk. I believe that when my back isn’t against a wall.” It was then that two hybrids jumped from the roofs above and in front of me, making the other hybrids jump back slightly.
“Alpha scum, back off.” one of the hybrids that jumped in front of me said. I just pushed myself against the wall and tried to find a way to get out.
There was a little more talk until a fight broke out. It happened quickly and I quickly tried to run past it. Of course I got into it and I quickly laid down the Hybrids in my way. When I got to the mouth of the alley way I stopped and looked back. All the Hybrids that cornered me where on the ground and the two Hybrids that came from the roofs were looking at me. They seemed to be having a conversation between each other. The one that talked before seemed to sigh heavily, while the other one started walking towards me. I braced myself to run again but he didn't feel threatening to me.
He stopped a good bit from me, probably feeling that if he got to close I would flee. “Don’t worry I won’t attack you. My name Raz. I’m a part of the rebel group.”
Alphas...Rebels... I've heard chatter about them. Hybrids and even humans talk about the two groups of hybrids.
"What you want with me?" I asked
" well by the rags you are wearing I'm guessing you need a home to stay at."
I frowned at his words. It was true, what clothes I was wearing has torn. I tried to steal some clothes but I haven't been successful about it.
"Yeah I guess. Are you going to give me a place to stay?"
"Not me but Sylvia will." The other Hybrid walked up next to him.
“Sylvia?” I asked watching the Hybrid.
“She’s the leader of the Rebels. I’m sure you will like her.”
I nodded. “ Alright. I’ll go, but only because I have no where else to go.”
“ That’s fine.” Said Raz starting to walk past me. “ Just follow me then.”
“ I don’t understand why Sylvia is even interested in her. She should be so much more grateful that Sylvia told us to come out here for her.” The other hybrid said not moving from their spot.
Raz stopped and looked back at them. “ We don’t question Sylvia’s plans. You know that. So shut it and let’s go.”
Raz motioned to me to follow him and I did keeping an eye on the other hybrid. We walked through the city for a good while, till we reached the outskirts of it. The other hybrid Jumped down under a bridge and Raz followed.
I looked around confused. “ Where is this place?”
“ Underground, why would we out a town where everyone can find it. Stupid.” The hybrid spat at me and jumped down what seemed to be a manhole.
“ It doesn't feel like it's underground, I promise.” Raz said Jumping down after the other hybrid. I looked down the hole unsure. A hand came up and pulled me down. As I fell I turned in a way so I would land on my feet. But when I hit the ground it ended up being farther down than I thought and I quickly rolled so I wouldn’t break anything. I quickly stood up and Raz was looking at me impressed.
“ Seems like you’ll be useful.”
I glared at the other hybrid who was rolling there eyes and was starting to walk down the pipeline.
Raz and I followed after and soon other Hybrids came out of the darkness. Raz just nodded at them and they went back into the darkness. There was a light up ahead and when we reached it we were standing slightly above the town.. if not a city.
I looked at it in shock. To think that this big of a civilization was hidden under a city of humans.
Raz smiled at me. “ Amazing isn’t it.”
I nodded my agreement and followed him down the hill.
