Hi and Welcome!
This is just a world for me to post a bit about me and anything I find interesting.
About Me
Favorite Anime/Manga: Bleach, Fullmetal Alchemist, DuRaRaRa!!, Soul Eater, Hetalia, Code Geass, Death Note, Pokemon, Tsubasa, xxxHolic, Fruits Basket, Big Windup!, Eden of the East, Clannad, D. Gray-man, Blue Exorcist, Ouran High School Host Club, Black Butler, Kaichou wa Maid-Sama!, K-ON!, Bakuman, Cardcaptor Sakura
Favorite Video Games: I mostly play RPGs, my all time favorite is Kingdom Hearts (the whole series). I also like Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, Pokemon games :D, Legend of Zelda, Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core, some racing games and baseball or soccer games, Assassin's Creed
Music: I'll listen to anything as long as I like it. I usually listen to J-Rock, J-Pop, Alternative and Punk, Spanish Rock, Classical and some Pop...the list goes on...
Sports: I love baseball and soccer
Apparently I've been hired for the job at UCSB, so I get to move-in early...it's only like three days earlier, but at least I won't have to deal with traffic. And the sooner I start working, the faster I get paid. I still don't know what position I'm getting, but I still stand by my previous statement: if it's a cleaning job, I'm turning around and looking for a job in the nearby city...I may be acting like a bit of a snob, but it's for their own good, they do not want me cleaning unless they want Goofy-type mishaps to occur (I can be very clumsy) Other than that, I can't wait to move in early. If the person set to be my roommate isn't moving in early too, it means I get to claim my space.
I'll be setting aside parts of my paychecks for various things (though I already know about $30 of my first paycheck is going towards manga), that way, I can start saving up for things I want to buy, and I can assess how much self-control I have when dealing with money. I just checked registration prices for AM^2 Con in Anaheim, and their prices are much more comfortable than AX (their Premium Pass is $20 less than AX's General Attendee Pass), so, I'll be saving up for AX, but if I don't make it, I'll just buy me and my sister passes to AM^2 and have a bit of spending money. I might even apply to be staff at either con, but in that case I'll have to get my sister to convince one of her friends to go so she won't be lonely and I'll have to get one, or more, of my responsible friends to look after them...
Now I'm off to listen to Doubt & Trust (3rd D. Gray-Man Opening Song) for like the 100th time today and ignoring Othello
I received a list of the textbooks and novels required in my courses today...
For Lit, I need Othello (it just couldn't be one of the two Shakespearean plays I've actually read: Hamlet and Macbeth) and Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro. I read the synopsis for the last novel and it sounds interesting...I didn't bother with Othello since I already know how it ends -.- I haven't read it, but the last two plays I read ended the same...I even confused the characters at one point...The good thing about Othello though is that I kinda forgot to give it back to my friend when the school year ended, so that's one less book I'll have to buy. The Italian textbook is by far the most expensive, and I can't rent that one nor the World History one because they're "custom UCSB editions" >.<
I guess since I have already, I might as well read it now...*sigh* and I was having so much fun reading Alice's Adventures in Wonderland...I finally found my copy after looking for it all last year...
Everyday that passes drives me more on edge regarding my financial aid >.<
My mom's nagging, complaining and constant interrogation doesn't help me feel any better -.-
Anyway...
I finished watching the dubbed half of D. Gray-Man a while back, and seeing as the second half isn't going to be dubbed anytime soon and I can't get my hands on the manga either, I started watching it subbed (yes, I know it's mostly filler, but I have to see some sort of continuation). The voices are going to take a little getting used to *Allen's* but it's better than nothing. I'm just used to the dub...and I love Kanda's voice yes, has everything to do with my Col. Mustang fangirl obsession.
Me and my sister were planning on going to the library (to stock up on manga) this past Saturday, but my mom didn't let us...I'm starting to think she has something against us going to the library O.o every time I ask for permission to go whether with my sister or my friends she outright objects. And I was really looking forward to reading Pandora Hearts and Black Butler...I might just go by myself when she leaves for work >.>
Despite setting a bunch of goals for myself, I've done nothing since -.- But I did hear from the RH offering the jobs at the university. I'll have to thank my English teacher for teaching me how to make my unimpressive work experiences (except for HDR, I loved that) sound amazing.
I did get back to watching Pandora Hearts. I started a while back but between school and other distractions I forgot about it for a while...I'm loving it! Xerxes is funny
The 2012 London Olympics are over...I ended up watching a lot of sports I don't normally watch and enjoying them. The end, however, leaves me with nothing to do for the most part of the day. And considering my sister starts school on Tuesday, I'll end up with even less to do from now till the say I start college in late September (whether or not my parents will have to take out a huge loan to ensure my spot this fall depends on the IRS >.>)
I was able to get a room in the dorm complex I wanted, so that's a plus. I already applied for a job in the dinning commons; I'm hoping to get cashier or something...I don't think they'd want me to clean or cook nor do I think they should trust me with fragile tableware...If I don't get a job there or if I just don't like it I'll look for another job.
In the meantime, I think I'll spend my last few weeks of freedom learning how to use GIMP more effectively, finishing up Assassin's Creed II again (I love the random outbursts in Italian of the townspeople) and starting prepare for a Disney Internship or College Program next year (which I will definitely apply for). I really need to improve my interview skills and my resume needs a lot of work (still don't have a cover letter, or any idea how to write one). I think I might do the College Program first, then the Internship.
I hope Winter Break won't go as fast as the Summer...I have a feeling I'm going to need all the rest I can get...
