Wow...well if he's like that then he must explain things...he can't just give work and except it to be done without a lesson, at least I think he can't >.<
Well, if he claims his class did that well, then he might...
Ahahaha I'm screwed because he even grades our homework (and not just an effort grade). He's sorta evil. But he claims everyone in his class passed the AP calc exam last year so maaaybe he will explain stuff tomorrow.
I think that applies to almost all concepts in Calc...I remember how I liked limits, derivatives and integrals because they were so simple compared to the other stuff we had to solve...and then they just went off and added a bunch of other crap that made everything so confusing >.>
Haha, that's where I get lost too...*random thought* try finding the derivative of the function, then solving for f^1(0), but I have no idea what to do with that number afterwards...(or might be some other concept altogether)
If I ever run into my Calculus teacher he better run >.>
I'm sorry I wasn't much help >.< I'll try making sense of this later, now my brain wants to know how to solve this and won't leave me alone until I figure it out -.-
Yeah, I know those rules for continuity. I just don't get the difference between f(x) and f(a) now?! I understood about ten hours ago but no longer haha.
I've been watching calc vids and trying to figure this stuff out for hours and have gotten nowhere. If he collects our homework I'm going to kill him >__>
No prob. I really have no idea, but the definitions I have for continuity are: f(a) exists; the limit as x approaches a of f(x) exists; and if the limit as x approaches a of f(x) equals f(a).
I tried solving them, but all I know is that the first and second problems aren't continuous where the function changes direction...
No problem & thanks.
Can you tell me WHAT is is the want me to do? I don't know what I'm trying to solve for. How do I even go about finding those values? I know it can't be continuous if the bottom of a fraction is zero, but that's about all I know.
I'm only on the first chapter, so maybe you can help. Thanks!
Well, to start off, for a bunch of them it asks "find the x values (if any) at which f is not continuous. Which of this discontinuities are removable?
Some problems I have to do are: f(x)=xsquared-2x+1, f(x)=cos(pi times x)/2, f(x)=x-1/xsquared+x-2.
I guess I just really don't know what they want me to do.
Agh, that happened all the time to me. The teacher would "explain" one thing, then assign us something completely different. And we didn't have our books because he thought they weren't necessary -.-
What are the problems asking? I might remember how to solve it...or consult my study book...
I don't have a study book...yet. I'm struggling because the problems in the homework aren't the same as the examples in the book or what my teacher taught today. I honestly do not know WHAT they want me to do for the problems!
Thanks.
It is...and I'm too stubborn to read online. And if I get it from the library, I end up buying the volumes later on anyway...
Yay! Lol, for some reason I like confusing plots...
Haha, Calculus will definitely be a major source of headaches...I have the AB BC Calc study book, but no matter how many times I read it, I just wasn't able to grasp the concepts. I hope you do better than I did
I've only read one volume, but it left me wanting to read more! I knew I should have bought more than one but I couldn't afford it
I'm only about 8 episodes in...I'll finish it pretty soon though. He's mine too, lol.
I love the Pandora Hearts manga, but I've also seen most of the anime which, although a bit different, is (somewhat surprisingly) pretty good. Break IS hilarious. He's my favorite :)

Yup. I don't know how tough a grader your teacher is, but I managed to get by with an A
