Lord of the Flies is really good. The first two thirds of the book are uber boring but the last few chapters are amazing. It's worth it. That's what I wrote my research paper on this year.
Same here, I read Animal Farm, but didn't quite like it at first, now I do. It does! I find it really quotable and I can use it to back up a lot of my cynical comments in my essays :D
I haven't read Lord of the Flies though...

I've never seen the movie! But the book was good!
I also liked Animal Farm and Lord of the Flies, although I didn't appreciate them at first. They had good points I thought.
I haven't either, half the class was assigned Pride and Prejudice and the other half Persuasion, both movies, well Pride and Prejudice was a mini-series, were boring >.>
Lucky!!! I'm much of a fan either...The only books we've read that I liked were Candide (which I found pretty amusing), Beowulf, Metamorphosis and Pere Goriot (which I hated at first)
I haven't had to read Pride and Prejudice.
Dude, we had to read Harry Potter over the summer! I don't actually like that series though, but it's more amusing than some other books we have to read.
Well the movie's a plus (unless it's like Pride and Prejudice, bleh) Yeah, I just read the first chapter, it's ok, but compared to Scarlet Letter, I find it amazing...I just wish a miracle would happen and we would have to read Eragon or something >.<
Lol, right! Very obvious! Gah, i still need 3 more chapters >.> I got Great Gatsby today (or next book) and I found it so much more interesting and easy to read. There's more description, but it's actually entertaining
Oh, that he basically announces what's going to happen before it does, killing any little suspense there is in the novel, like when he keeps saying, "...not knowing of the evil that awaited them..." or stuff like that
Right?! I hate it! He rambles on too much about stuff no one cares about...not to mention all the foreshadowing that kills the purpose of a novel >.> *continues ranting*
