Hahaha, I used "good English" to get myself out of reading the rest sometimes. As long as the grammar is good, and your sentences come together well, it's fine, but I've read some papers where it starts on one topic, and somehow ends up somewhere in outer space >.< in just a couple words.
Yeah, I have no idea why they struggle when it's their first/only language. With foreign languages it's understandable 'cause we don't have as much practice.
Lol, yeah I have some friends that ask me to look over their essays or thesis statements or whatever, and I'm like "you need to write all of this in GOOD english" but of course I can't say that >__> I'm not that good of a writer or anything, but I guess my grammar and composition is pretty good, so I don't really get why native speakers struggle. Haha.
As for foreign languages, I can't say much cuz I fail.
Getting it out of the way early was definitely good.
Lol, I miss going grammar Nazi on people's writing! This one girl that used to be my friend never learned, no matter how much I corrected her (if she got into *any* colleges, it was thanks to me and my revisions, but ask them if they remember that...) She had *the* worst spoken English a native speaker could have, and her Spanish was worse (I was like, what the heck do you speak?)

Yeah! And exaaactly, I don't get it. But I applied early anyway. I got an app out of the way relatively early and I appeared to show interest in the school, I guess.
Aww, yeah I usually have my teacher or father look over my essays, and sometimes my friends, too. In return for my friends, I go grammar Nazi on their papers. LOL but it helps them when their essays are for English classes
Three?! And that just sucks. Why offer the early application if they're going to do that in the first place? Universities make no sense >.>
Hahaha, sounds like a great teacher! I would love for anyone to look over my drafts, but everyone seems to be busy whenever I need help, so I just don't ask anymore. (Don't even get me started on their reaction to me not helping them >.>)
I had to write like three essays on top of the common app stuff JUST FOR ADMISSION (it wasn't extra essays for scholarship stuff)to the University of Chicago. This is what happens when you apply to overachiever colleges. And then after telling you to apply early they defer tons of people and stress you out until the spring when you actually know whether the heck they want you or not
Yeah for essays she always marks up grammar stuff as well as some comments on content. And often makes us turn in the previous version along with our revised essay. She has no life I guess but she really cares about her classes, which I appreciate (this is my third year having her, LOL, she was my history teacher sophomore and junior years).
Lol I know, right? It's ridiculous. And most of my schools were common app yet that was the case >__>
Yeah, right now I'm living off the fact that if my teacher doesn't kill me for the quality of my rough draft, I get to rewrite it for my final draft. Actually, I can rewrite it as many times as I want before the final draft deadline. It's amazing!
That's worse than college itself Dx!! I haven't had to write as many papers as I did in high school here. The only downside is the tough grading and limited time (there's more than one due at the same time)
Hahahaha, I hope so xD Even if it doesn't, it makes me feel like I'm doing *something* about the problem that won't result in any harm to myself or my precious belongings.
Agh, that's the worst. I'm taking advantage of all my free time to do something fun while I still can (i.e. before papers, midterms, finals)
Nope, I've heard of it though. Might watch it later on.
I was about to, just like many other times, but I remembered that all my stuff is in the room, and they have easy access to it (no way to lock out people in adjoining room) and I'm not here most of the time >.<
It's open now >.> when I don't need it...*goes over and locks them out of bathroom* <----have gotten my slight revenge for the day. I wish I had the courage to do more.
I did that too, but then I advanced in the game, so I decided to watch until whatever point I was in, then stop until I make more progress.

It is :/
I try my best to master the grammar. Probably why I kinda gave up on German for now since I can't make sense of it

Yeah, and it's harder to direct them in that aspect as opposed to telling them to expand on one idea or something like that.
Even with foreign languages, I'm semi good at grammar. I correct Google translate's grammar all the time.

The Common App only worked out nicely for FIT. No essays whatsoever other than the two required ones.
Really?! That's really helpful. Do you get feedback on what to improve with each draft?

Haha yeah xD
I'm so sick of papers. I wrote at least 15 essays/"short answers" for colleges, I think.
Tell me if you watch it!

Geez. I would probably throw a temper tantrum. What is this "patience" of which people speak?
I've only seen an episode of the P4 anime, I think. I wanted to play the game first.
