I think the same too. I do believe that the admins of that page is selfish for giving a one sided view about anime like you said. And they are over-reacting and bending the truth to make things worse. That's very low of them, lying for the sake of discouraging people.
They should just accept what are the likes of others. It's not the "anime's" fault that some are influenced by some anime that aren't very nice. It's the person it-self's fault for watching that kind of stuff.
Yeah. You're right they should just spread the teachings of the bible instead of criticizing anime fans.

I took a look at this stuff, and what I see here is actually very common.
First of all, these "Christians" are hypocrites. I am an anime fan, I haven't watched a whole lot of anime in my life, but I do like some of them. However, I do come across the occasional anime that I don't think is good from a spiritual standpoint.
Still, that doesn't make me think that all anime is bad and all anime is from satan.
Second of all, whoever owns this page is a hypocrite (Oh, wait, I said that already. Disregard the sentence from the previous paragraph)
They post their one-sided views on anime that I've never even heard of. They sound like angry anime-fans, because I haven't even heard of some of the stuff they posted! Plus, they twist the story into a way that only a satanit could think of. Especially "Afro Samurai" and "Shingeki no Kyojin".
I don't think they deserve to call themselves Christians. Every post begins with something along the lines of "My dear sinners" or "My dear devil children". Dumb pricks.
I'm a Christian and I would never abrasively barrage people with insults and names like that, that is not Christian-like at all.
And I'm not one to say that I'm so perfect. I have a lot of problems that I have to deal with, I'm far from perfect; but I can firmly say that in a spiritual way, I probably stand higher on the scale than said person. I would never wear a shirt that said "satan" on it, unless it was a bible verse that said something about rebuking his influence or whatnot. They sound more satanic than Christian.
Finally.
Instead of targeting things and rallying them off as satanic, shouldn't a Christian be practicing love and generosity in their spare time instead of being oppressive?

Yeah right. They know so much about the plot (they say) and evil inside it (they say) but they don't even know the spelling of the names of the character's names ad the title itself.

Riiiggghhht! I really respect their opinion but they say it like its a fact. Anime is just plain, is not evil or what they call satanic because I've seen a lot of anime which have moral values. And the purpose of anime isn't to get your Christian values away from you, its for entertaining people like us. It all depeds on the person like you said.

You're absolutely right Jen. I too am a Christian and even though I love anime so much, I never neglected my duties as a Christian. And I don't think that anime is a hindrance in me being Christian.
I also admit that anime have some certain genres that aren't made for young audiences. But that's where the genres are needed. The mangakas and anime creators put genres as warnings like mature, smut, etc. Its the choice of the person whether he/she will watch that anime. So, anime isn't the one at fault its the person who watched despite of the warnings.
Yeah. That's the thing I hate in that page. They were using cursing like its a normal word. -_- and so much for the word hell, satan and demon.

I've seen many uproars about Anime Is Satan. I've also seen people start petitions to get the page down and a page made in response called Anime Is Not Satan. I don't really pay attention to the group because I find that it's no use to think about pages like that even if they insulted my favorite anime D:
Although the thing that got me really confused is why target anime. The person generalized anime into being satanic. I find that if you're going to do that, you might as well generalize books, movies, songs, shows, etc. into the satanic category.
I wonder how the person who created the page will react if I told him/her that most of the people I meet at church watch anime, and the church made either a manga or anime about the religion (so it'll be more entertaining to the children) XD
Either these people are trolls PRETENDING to think that anime is satanic or they're really stupid. If you have an opinion, at least do research to back it up. I stopped reading when they said something about "Sosuke" from "Naroto". Personally, I don't think these people are worth fretting about.

hm i don't get on facebook much only when i feel i should. But this is something I never seen. So anime is satanic.... ha i guess it wouldn't help them fact of them cussing. But as someone who was raised in a christian home... I believe Anime is just anime. If someone gets influenced on it... thats on them. But i don't think anime is all that bad. Sure some have some weird stuff and other things that most religion do not allow and such but its not hurting them. Its not really hurting anyone people watch to watch. It catches their attention but my opinion they do as they please... And I completely agree with Jen on her opinion as well. if it will make em happy go and bad talk anime..... just be civilized no cussing needed. everyones opinion matters.

I see where they're coming from tho.. I'm a Christian and very, for lack of a better word, disciplined but I don't have a problem with being on this site and drawing anime. Yes, some anime are very inappropriate, like almost anything can be. And also anime can make something look cool and catch teenagers who aren't into cartoons any longer, and lead them further into 'wrong' things.
All those points aside, if people have a problem with anime like this, AND believe in God, they shouldn't be cursing like you said. They shouldn't even be hammering it. Its like, just leave it alone >3< Give ur advice when u see fit, but why try to just go out there and fight anime?
I believe a lot of things can be satan, so how about that site just go and post about how their TV in general is satan, or how they're car is satan, cuz I believe it kills more people and nature then anything else. =_= Its unbelievable they have enough time to rant about anime, in such an ungodly way too.
I have a friend who has hit me with the 'anime is very bad topic' too and like I said, I see where she's coming from and I believe it too, in a way. but it all comes down to the spirit inside u and whether u feel condemned or not watching it. People like these on the site shouldn't be hammering this and putting out statements to put down Otakus and such.
