I should've been smart enough to realize that supposed IRS call was fake. It was pretty effective in scarring people though. Too effective in my case, since I was too rattled to remember the guy's phone number.
As for that site I ordered stuff from, I've ordered things from there before and this was the longest they've ever taken to approve my order. Before, my orders would be approved in like the same evening I made them. This time it took like three days for some reason.
I noticed that everything came to a near halt once the school year started as well.
As for the ordering stuff online, I do that a lot. You can usually check the reputation of the sites you order from to see if they're trustworthy. So far, I haven't had any problems, save for this one eBay seller, that as of several years ago, is no longer a registered user.
Funny you should mention the "IRS". My mom and I recently had a talk about those fake IRS calls. The point of them IS to make you scared. I've never experienced one in person since I don't have a land line, but my mom gets them now and again.
Call it karma. Call it luck. Me, I just don't give a... BOUNCE!
