Merchandise doesn't surprise me at all. I imagine the reason why it's mostly for anime like Attack On Titan is because that's an extremely popular series at the moment.
Anyway, glad you liked Jurassic World. I kind of had my doubts about it going in, to be honest.
Yeah, I've noticed that too. It's hard to find the newer stuff in the stores now, although it seems like merchandise has come out more, like shirts and wallets and other different types of stuff. That's cool, although some of that is only for certain series like Attack on Titan (I see a lot of that anymore).
BTW, I also went to see Jurassic World, and it was awesome!!!
Indeed. It looks like we're of the same opinion on this. Another thing I failed to mentioned about that store I went to for anime DVDs is that there selection seemed a little bit dated. I mean their selection wasn't incredibly old, but they were missing newer anime shows that are considered hits like Sword Art Online and Kill la Kill.
I can totally see where you're coming from with all of this. Actually, I recently went through going into a store and browsing anime DVDs like that myself. I have a store in the mall that I've always bought them from, but their selection hasn't been good lately. I really do think that the online and digital has something to do with it. Personally, I don't like the idea of not being able to hunt for my favorites in a store either, or finding something totally new and exciting. Yes, the online prices can be better, but there is that thrill in it.
As for manga, I own a Kindle Fire, but I prefer my manga as a physical book. There's nothing wrong with them on the Fire, but any other Kindle they can be hard to read. Plus, I love being able to just pick up the book and flip through it whenever I want to, and even sometimes drawing a character using the book for reference on details (my kindle will switch itself off after being idle for three minutes, which is a bummer).
As for the hackers, heck yes, I totally agree with the dangers of it. I've had my bank card hijacked before (while I was in the hospital having my second child), and had to go through a whole hoopla to get a good amount of money back. I don't have a problem really buying my anime DVDS and items online here and there, although the waiting game is both fun and frustrating, especially in that special instance that an item gets "lost" in the mail. But I do prefer going into a store and buying them myself.
Hopefully I wasn't too long in my opinions. But I did like and agree with your post. I don't think the physical will go out of style completely either, but it's still kind of sad when you see stuff like that.
