What I was hoping was that it was from a brick-and-mortar store, so that you could take it in and get it repaired or something. I have no idea if taking it to some kind of video game repair place might be an option, since I don't think a problem like this has happened to me before. (The closest I got was a decade or so ago when my new puppy chewed up one of the cords on my Nintendo 64, and we brought it into a place that specialized in replacing video game parts. I don't remember much from that incident though.)
Call it karma. Call it luck. Me, I just don't give a... BOUNCE!
I know. All I was trying to do originally was set my system to the correct time, because I discovered that I had set it to the wrong timezone during the original setup. Nintendo did not make it at all easy to figure out which was the correct timezone option to use. Of course I guess it didn't help that I'm clueless about geography.
Well I got it through Amazon, but I honestly don't think where I got it from is the problem. It was working perfectly well until I decided to mess with the clock.
I think that you made a good choice to set the game down for a bit. Sometimes it's best to concentrate on other things. As for the game problem, where did you get the game? Do you think the people that sold you the game might have any advice? Maybe you could check on Nintendo's website too.

It's really too bad that Nintendo had to implement punishments like this that effect people who are just innocently playing the game. :(
