I defeated the final gym leader that night, and since I was on a roll, I thought I'd finish things up by defeating the Elite Four and the game's main Rival player, which I believe I named Kalgon. I liked how the player could name the rival character in the first and second generation games. On my way to face the Elite Four, I captured the game's final legendary bird, Moltres. I defeated the Elite Four and my rival quite easily. I don't know if my victory was because I had Mew, but one the end credits of the game finished rolling, I took a break. I should probably note I think I only used Mew in one gym battle, but having the pink feline was like having a wild card i could use in emergencies. Anyway, after my break I turned the game back on, went to the final dungeon, and captured the game's final legendary Pokemon, Mewtwo, who I put on my team.
So that's the story about how I discovered the Mew glitch. I'm sorry if it was a little long winded, but I think a lot of the best stories take a little time to tell. I played the game off an on that summer after I completed the main story line. My team in the end consisted of Charizard, Pikachu, Mew, Laparas, Zapdos, and Mewtwo. I occasionally swapped out on of the members of the team to train other Pokemon, but the six I named were my main team.
Eventually, during that same summer, I tried to activate the Mew glitch on my Yellow. It took a little more work, but I did it. Then, I finally got out my Blue version and activated the glitch one more time that summer. After that, I put the Pokemon games away. I don't really recall if I tried playing the Pokemon games again the previous summer or not. If I did, it was probably my Silver version. Although I think I spent most of last summer watching stuff on Youtube. Anyway, the point is I think I'll remember the summer of 2009 for three things, my ceramics class, the deaths of many prominent celebrities, and more importantly, my discovery of the Mew glitch. Thanks for reading.
