Aww sucks that your post got deleted but MyOtaku is still functioning.
The easiest way to find your friends around here is through your MyO page. Go to your friends list and click on their name and after use their portfolio link and you'll be automatically placed here.
And do not worry, we were all confused when we started using VV but after awhile and some browsing around you'll get the handle of it. I still am in fact and I've been around here for a week or so, hehe.

I know I am trying to find my friends too. Its wierd what has been deleted and hasn't. But I can tell that MyOtaku is still functioning. I just typed some people's name into the search bar. It actually took the system a while to let me vote/favorite anything. ( I also grabbed the people that updated.) I haven't found many yet. And starting to go through my old favorites to find people again. I was happy I was able to find you. It looks like a few people didn't make the jump to VV.
I'm glad you saved your fanfiction. Mine wasn't so lucky.
