Spirit at War.
Another night has passed away.
Living each day as if I'm to stay.
I try so hard to think of you,
A portrait of such beauty...
Laughing back at me.
Memories of us when we were young,
Fooled by smiles the day has sung.
Remember me as I will meet
the horizon and face my defeat.
FACE THIS ALL ALONE.
FACE THIS ALL ALONE.
We had it all,
or so we thought.
Dreams of forever...
we have always sought.
COURAGE TO SURVIVE ALONE.
COURAGE TO SURVIVE ALONE.
I'll never give up
on chasing those shadows.
These dreams of us
Shine on or so it goes.
The Passing
And all the children continued to laugh and play as children do. Sand castles washed away carelessly. What was happiness? When the passing of time slowly begins to beg for an answer and a conclusion. There was never any truth to life. Faced with infinite lies and twisted smiles, he would walk the shores alone as the nights passed on, while his answer was right in front of him. His conclusion. Was it just another lie? An excuse to carry on?
He remained calm as the laughter got louder and louder. The cries of joy and hope rushed ashore calling for him. He would pause his pace for a second to ponder about the moments he was surrounded by. In reality, this would eventually lead to his own defeat. He knew this though and cared not for the truth that had struck him. He would still wander on. How soon would tragedy break the night? He cared not. In his mind he would see faces in the sea crying for deliverance. He was very fortunate and he knew this. He would pull those who were lost from the sea and walk away before he could receive thanks. To become one of those faces in the sea one day seemed like a good conclusion. But the voice in his head which seemed more like ticks and tocks told him to go on. It wasn't his time yet. He'd rather not waste time though, for time has been precious to him before.
He stood still, facing the path of moonlight gleaming upon the sea. It was times like this when he wished he would hear an actual voice pleading. With so many thoughts poisoning his mind, how could he forgive himself? When reality doesn't accept you, can you even forgive yourself? He turned his back on the reality he was told of long ago, so how could he even be forgiven? He did not care. He knew that his reality was proper and evident. And thus, his own demise, bringing about harmony and peace to life once more.
Shores of Edlyn [PROLOGUE]
Day after day, I walked along the quiet shores of Edlyn just to feel cast away from this cruel society…day after day. As night would approached, I felt more accepted into this life of mine. There was always silence and yet, there was a sense of happiness within me. Knowing nobody wanted anything to do with me made me feel more at peace. But when it came down to it, I was always alone…and slowly but surely, this would become the death of me. Maybe even sooner than I think. Only time will tell.
