A good OEL you might want to check out is X-Men: Misfits by Raina Telgemeir, David Roman, and Anzu. Essentially, it's a shojo version of the Marvel universe. Sounds terrible, but it's one of the best mangas I've ever read. I understand that there is also a X-Men shonen released around the same time, but I have yet to read it.
