I’ve only seen/read small pieces of the series because of the bloodiness of it (saw parts edited on Toonami back in the day and only have a handful of manga volumes), but I really love Kenshin’s character and Sano’s and Megumi’s stories. And seconding your thumbs-up for the original English dub.
I love the dub, but that may be just nostalgia goggles.
But yeah, reading the manga versus watching the anime does present tonal differences. The manga was more brutal and intense than the anime was, but it was still a great watch.
Are you going to do the remakes/more updated anime of Rurouni Kenshin? Personally, I try to stay away from them, but I also haven't heard bad things about them.
