That Bitch, That witch, what a fever pitch.

"I've got a date This friday." Chide said, folding his laundry on the bed.

"Who with?" Argos asked, trying really hard to focus on the giant alien boss on his TV screen. He wasn't really paying attention. Chide babbled on about some girl from his history class and how she had asked him out three times and he said yes to a coffee date so she'd stop but you know she was kind of cute so maybe something would happen, and -

"Why didn;t you tell me about Raze?"

Argos wasn't sure either. "You saw how she reacted, I don't think she wants anyone to know." Chide scoffed.

"Well thats a load of crap."

"Have you found any body you think is a good choice yet?" Argos wondered. He paused his game to give his brother his full attention.

"I thought you wanted me to be with gail."

"Not necessarily." Argos corrected. "I don;t mind who you partner with, so one as you can resonate."

"But you've been so set on them for the past two and a half months."

Argos shrugged. "Yeah, because I can feel their wavelengths. I know that they'd be good. You know mom was one hell of a sensor, she taught me a lot about compatibility, so I just thought it was logical. It kind of sucks though, that their personalities are rotten. I mean jesus christ they are horrid."

"Can't we just take a break from them. One day. Lets skip bio lab I don;t think I can handle the way Gail will look at us once she finds out what you did."

"That's her problem. Raze can make her own decisions, just like you can Chide. You don't have to get close to Gail if you've got someone else in mind. You only have another two weeks before its time to declare though. So hurry up."

"You sound so damn detached about it. Do you even care that you're really sticky a knife in whatever the hell kind of messed up family life that those two have? I mean, clearly they aren't social butterflies but Argos you've only been thinking about us and mostly you ad how you could use them. I've seen it. Every time you look at Raze harlow you look hungry. And not like some creepy pedo… You just look so desperate." Argos' brow furrowed. Chide took a breath and then continued. "I guess nobody else can see it good for you everybody thinks you're some cool guy but really I think you're pushing it lately."

"You just don't want me to be partners with your stupid arch nemesis or whatever and why is that? Because she glared at you? Because she can kick your ass?"

"No, Argos. Because she can kick yours."

There was an awkward silence. "Chide, you gotta let what happened when we were kids go."

Chide was nearly pulling his hair out. "I can't man, you know I can't!" Argos's cell rang on the desk and he dove at it trying to end this discussion. Chide grabbed it first.

"Give me the phone, Chide, I'm not talking about this right now." The look in Chide's eyes actually made Argos want to look away. Chide threw the phone at his brother and left the room. It stopped ringing before he could answer. The number on the redial screen was unfamiliar. His finger hovered over the call button but he never pressed it.

Argos didn't see the girls on Sunday. Chide was out with a group of his friends trying to forget his brother even existed. Argos spent most of his time in his dorm room, studying at his desk. Everybody else forgot finals were in about three weeks and that the first semester was almost over. Most people had already decided who they'd declare as their partner. He cursed the DWMA for not giving them two semesters to choose. He put his head on the desk, annoyed. How was he expected to focus on finals when he was still trying to figure out the whim of some insane girl that hardly wanted to be figured out. It was so frustrating.

A knock on the door pulled him out of the trench of annoyance. Chide never knocked and they never had visitors. His stomach sank. He really really hoped it wasn't gail. He didn't want to get in a fight right now, it would really throw him out of whack, more so than he already was. There door didn't have a peep hole so he could check.

"Who is it?" He called, staying at the desk. There was a slight pause.

"It's me."

Raze.
