Alistair to Alexander

Last post tonight! I swear!

Alistair, my ancient OC, is renamed Alexander! Here is a comparison between the the 2026 comic version and his black and gold design from 2010:

Now wearing parade armor, you may not be able to see with the helmet on, but he still has his iconic long black hair.

Alexander is 23yo, which may or may not be the same age that Alistair was in my original comic. The aristocratic asshole hasn't changed much since my high school days. Still goth. Still overly protective and creepily obsessed with Natalya. Antonia is still disgusted by him.

So whats his story?
Sir Alexander is of course Natalya's body guard and a knight of Perovskia. He is the empire's top swordsman, but he is outclassed by Valon's own sword master Yzer. Yzer's star pupil, Zanub (another ancient OC), is equally matched with Alexander. Yzer's other pupil, prince Harmund, is lazy and refuses to practice. Alexander already despises Valon's prince, who is betrothed to Natalya, so Harmund's lack of discipline is just one more reason for Alexander to hate him.

There are very few people that Alexander can tolerate. He appreciates Ludmir's practical nature, and he considers Ilarion very dependable and honest. Alexander considers these two people his closest friends. He mistreats his squire, Nikifor, but sees his potential. Despite the physical and verbal abuse of the boy, Alexander specifically selected Nikifor as his squire for his fiery personality.

Nikifor and Lachlan/Ludmir's Redesign

I wanna compare the old designs of these guys from around 2010 with the artwork from 2026.

Nikifor has always been a douche but now his outfit is inspired by skinheads. Fitted button shirt, cuffed pants, eyelet boots, etc. As Alexander's squire, he is pushed extremely hard by Alexander to the point of being physically abused.
Nikifor bullies others into submission as an outlet for his pent up aggression towards Alexander. In this new comic panel, he tries to push Ludmir around for not showing more humility in front of Natalya. Ludmir is unbothered.

Ludmir is less outgoing than his previous incarnation, Lachlan. He's been given a more traditional Slavic outfit instead of a kilt, with a shorter hairstyle. He is no longer a knight, now strictly the court painter. Also a commoner and a life long friend of Ilarion.
I said in the previous post that Lachlan was a stealth crossdresser. Ludmir is a trans man. He will not have a side romance with Elodie, since Elodie's newest incarnation is just a doll.
His political point of view is like Ilya Repin but more radically anti-imperialist. In a way, Ludmir becomes an antagonist to the Imperial family though not a villain. He supports the people, not the ruling class. He hides his true intentions from Ilarion who is a man loyal to the Imperial family. Their opposing politics will definitely cause issues for their friendship in the future.
