Chapter 2: Time For a Little R &R
-Jason-
“Jason sit up straight when you eat. Jason do not talk with your mouth full. Jason do not use slang when you speak.” I mimicked as put my hands behind my head and wandered back to my room.
“Sir Jason you know that your parents mean well.” Dante said as he ran to catch up with me.
I sighed and looked over at him. “I know it just gets on my nerves at times. Especially when they repeat it everyday to me.”
“You can get through it sir.” Dante smiled at me. “Your 18th birthday is tomorrow.”
“I know.” I groaned and opened the door to my room and walked in. “Everyone is going to be there and I’m supposed to be looking for a bride to be.”
“What is wrong with that if you don’t mind me asking?” Dante stated as he followed me into my room and shut the door behind him.
“I would rather get to know the person first before deciding if I want them to be even my girlfriend.” I answered going into my closet really quick and changing into a pair of swimming trunks and a lose tank top.
“I understand that sir…” Dante said and I came out and looked at him.
“It’s Jason, Dante. We don’t have to be formal with each other when we’re alone.” I commented and opened my window that was towards the ocean.
“Sorry, Jason… We’re going to the beach again aren’t we?” He asked with a bit of disappointment in his voice.
“Yep, I want to find sea shells.” I answered and hopped onto my window ceil and then started climbing down the vines that ran along side it. “Come on slow poke.” I laughed and didn’t look back.
I ran down to the beach and stood there with my arms out and took a deep breath of the sea air. “This is great isn’t it Dante?” I asked and looked back to see him stumbling up to me from trying to catch up.
“Sir, I mean Jason you know I can’t swim.” Dante mentioned.
“I know that’s why your going to keep watch as I go look for seashells. Don’t worry I won’t be long.” I laughed and took off my tank top and got into the water. The water felt nice against my body as I walked further into the water and then got deep enough into the ocean to be able to dive down and start looking around for seashells.
I grabbed some really cool looking ones and came back up to get some air. I was close by one of the rocks that were sticking out of the water and I swam up to it to take a break and set my seashells down on. I got to the rock and was able to climb up on it to take a little break and look at my seashells better.
“Are you alright Jason?” Dante yelled out to me from shore.
“Yea I’m good. I just wanted to look at what I got a little better before diving for more.” I answered back and went back to looking at my seashells.
